[GearVR] Back Button handler no longer working in Unreal Integration version 1.24.0

Trying both 4.18 & 4.19 versions of 1.24.0 the Back button override no longer works.

Usually calling the console command:

gearvr.HandleBackButton 1

You are able to use the "Android Back" button event in UE4 to display for example a menu however it is no longer working in these builds :(

Epic's binary 4.18 using the older Oculus SDK it is working as expected.

Example project on the 4.19 branch attached. Back button and console command called in the Pawn_Blueprint

    Hi,

Thanks very much for reporting this. I am forwarding this to our integrations team along with your repro project and will update this thread when I have more information or a fix to share.

    Any updates here?
  • Is it possible to integrate this fix in to a project built with the UE4.18.3 from the Oculus-VR github? I downloaded that last week and it has API 1.24 and I am needing to integrate this HMD back button functionality to satisfy requirements.
  • Plugins. This page describes the development and management of Plugins for use with the Unreal Engine tools and runtime. Many Unreal Engine subsystems are designed to be extensible, enabling you to add entire new features and to modify built-in functionality without modifying Engine code directly. https://mcdvoice.me/
