GL ES 3.x won't be in 4.11 binary release
Oculus devs, could you please put some sense into Epic devs so they could release 4.12, at least, with GL ES 3.x enabled (and fix build times when using ASTC compression ) ?

It seems that Epic dropped the ball on Gear VR optimizations and improvements :/ - vrdavebOculus StaffIt's probably too soon to make specific promises about 4.12. What kind of performance optimization are you looking for here? ASTC has worked since 4.5, but ETC2 should also work if you are encountering problems with ASTC.

For whatever reason stripped down FPS template would not run at 60 fps. I'd only get to 58 fps. There are only 2-3 basic materials, minimal polycount (no view weapon either), all lighting baked.
Epic doesn't have near future plans for instanced VR rendering for Android.
Epic recommends against using ASTC. While Oculus recommends GLES3.X and ASTC. ETC2 isn't good when it comes to gradients.
