HTC Vive - Walking using hand controls.

Greetings everyone !
In this demonstrative video of the hand control of the live, we see a man moving in the walking environment, just as happens simultaneously in the UE4, can tell me if this shift in the virtual world is happening because the sensors of the live are detecting the displacement of the control in physical space or is the man turning the controller like a joestick to go forward?

  • he's physically walking so its tracking roomscale position of the headset. Larger moves are done via teleporting with the wands
  • So it can walk freely within the limits of the sensor tracker?, If I am not mistaken, the area is 5 m2
If I understood correctly, it does not depend on the controls but on the shifting of the glasses right?
  • Yep, it's tracking the headset. The rift can do the same thing, just in a smaller area.

At 1:19 you can see him do a teleport (aiming a target at the ground) to let him move further than tracking (or his real life room) allows. But the main movement there is room scale tracking.
