Motion prediction settings ? -updated : tearing...-
Hello everyone,
I noticed something :
Launch your udk based demo (or UDK project)
Find some vertical edge they will be what you'll be looking at.
Then pan as slowly as possible your head (look from left to right, or right to left) and stay vertical doing so
Do you see it ? the panning jumps. it's skips, it's like little jumps. It's annoying...
Is that because of motion prediction settings ?
(you'll find them in .../Config/UDKEngine.ini
I don't have that same issue in OculusSmallTiny, OculusWorldDemo, or any Unity demo.
I saw the motion prediction settings and haven't tinkered with them, I don't dare ^_^
UPDATE : it was tearing... tearing at 1280x800 on a GTX 690... on very simple (all of them) UDK scenes... weird... I don't get it... v Sync in now ON.

- cyberealityGrand ChampionStrange, I am not seeing that here. I just tested with a UT3 map, seems fine.
- OlivierJTExplorerI overstated the "as slow as possible", not that slow, so let's say 45 degres in around 3 seconds.
It jumps, jumps, jumps... I wish I could capture it and show it...
Could it be related to the fact that when i launch UDK"play this game on PC", the HMD says 1280x1024 60hz ??
(same if I choose 1920x1200 or 1280x800 in the launch options can't get it to be at 1280x800...) - Teddy0kExplorerIs it screen tearing because VSync is off? Or just the frame rate hitching?
- OlivierJTExplorerTearing at 1280x800... ??
You got me in doubt so i enable VSync and...
it's fixed...
Turned on V Sync ON in Nvidia C Panel...
How could i have tearing at this low resolution using a GTX 690 !???
This is nuts ^_^ - radomiroHonored Guest
