Multimodal in Unreal 5?

The only documentation I can find on multimodal setup is for Unity and for the Quest pro... is there any way to set up Multimodal on Unreal 5 with the Quest 3?

  • Still no news, I'm afraid... we're now trying to implement it natively (which is a bit sad because Meta should just provide this feature). If anyone would already have done it this way, feel free to share info/best practices.

Hi BiomedKUL i want to start to develop it myself, any Directions or Leads on how?

does it involve getting into the metaxr plugin or accessing and retrieving from an sdk using JNI?

      Thanks!

  • Maybe can we get at least info if Multimodal is planed to be added to next or later plugin version v72,v73....

  • Same here. Pretty ridiculous that we are on v71 and it was released for Unity on v62

  • Just want to push it up again, still waiting for multimodel to happen in Unreal

  • Any news on this? It's been a while and I still can't find any documentation.

    Hi,

I'm definitely interested for the UE 5 support for this feature also !

  • I'm also interested in setting up multimodal for UE5.3. It seems like the latest version of the Meta plugin supports it as Unity has an option to enable it but Unreal does not.

Looking at the docs for native I thought there might be some work-around to enabling it: https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/native/android/native-multimodal/ but no one has been able to provide me with any instructions on how or where I can call the extension mentioned in the docs.

Someone else told me that it's likely available on Meta's custom fork of UE but I can not find it anywhere. Did Meta stop with custom Forks?

Do any of the meta devs read the forums? Can you give us some insight on if and how we can make this work? And if not is there a timeframe to getting it into unreal?
