ORG 047 - Forced Update - how to implement?

Is there a way of retrieving the latest version number available in the store?  I'm not seeing any API for that...

    This comes direct from the Rift Guidelines excel document and is listed as Required.  Does that mean you intend for everyone to implement a web service to handle this?
