SharedSpaces5x + OculusUnrealEngine5.1 // SDK 33 issue?
Hi, I just did a fresh install of the Oculus UE build 5.1 and the new SS release to see how it worked, and I'm getting an error when trying to install the packaged project to my Quest2.
db: failed to install SharedSpaces-arm64.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK: Failed parse during installPackageLI: /data/app/vmdl1751123627.tmp/base.apk (at Binary XML file line #8): Requires newer sdk version #33 (current version is #29)]
It appears to be an SDK issue, I have 33 installed via android studio, but I'm not sure if there's something I need to do via unreal/ the SS project ?? Any feedback would be welcome since this appears to be a new issue with this particular setup.
SharedSpaces4x + OculusUE4x works by default without this error.
Yeah that was the same one I was getting originally, it did take me a little to get it working even after following those instructions but it did work in the end, these are the relevant settings I have if this is any more help at all, if not I don't have much more I can offer in terms of help sorry ๐
I think one thing that helped me was manually defining the locations instead of letting it try to auto figure them out. Hopefully you can get it working!
Edit: The sdk picture doesn't look like it zooms in heres a second copy hopefully this is easier to read:

Hey, I ran into that same error when setting up 5.1 and trying to push to my quest 2, the docs need to be updated. I found this post (credit to the original person) and these settings got me going:
https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/error-uat-ld-lld-error-undefined-symbol-aarch64-swp8-acq-rel-ue5-1/693154/3Pay special attention to:
"UE5.1: Platforms (Launch), Android, Quest 2 do Update Device and restart UE to get SDK Managment โInstalled: r25bโI didn't even know this was a thing until I read this, its here in 5.1 (mine doesn't show the update because its already done but it would be at the bottom:
Sorry if these are not the clearest instructions but I hope it helps a little!

I appreciate the response, I went through the steps outlined, even going so far as clearing all downloaded sdks/reinstalling android studio fresh and doing a clean install of the recommended versions, but am still getting the newer SDK error when installing packaged builds to the headset ๐
- were you getting the same error "Requires newer sdk version #33 (current version is #29)]" ?

This is sad because meta quest said Andriod 12L and version 32 will be supported after june 2023. So I did install version 32.
