Terrible performance, VR Preview passthrough via Air Link
I have an Unreal project that is basically blank. I'm using Air Link with a WiFi 6E router, getting 2401mpbs. When I hit VR preview, if I'm NOT using passthrough, I get good performance and framerate. If I enable passthrough, simply by initializing persistent passthrough from the passthrough subsystem, I get extreme lag, like 5 FPS.
Is this a problem with Air Link? Do I need the cable?

Hey there. Thanks for reaching out to Meta Quest Support.
For the best practices we recommend connecting via ethernet and not Wi-Fi, also connecting to the 5GHz band.
Being in the same room as the router may also help.
There will be some users that experience streaming artifacts and pixelization, as the quality of the stream is dynamic while using Air Link. The full fidelity video feed created by a PC would require significant network bandwidth to recreate on the Quest. Users interested in the highest fidelity experience should use Oculus Link cable. You can visit the Meta store to view Link Cables here.
We hope this answers everything!

Hello, and thanks for the response.
I'm currently using a WiFi 6E router. As side above, this is getting 2401mpbs. My understanding is that this should offer better performance than a 5G router. Is this not the case with respect to Air Link? I'm getting perfect performance with Virtual Desktop, even with passthrough enabled, so it doesn't seem like a WiFi problem.

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply.
Air Link does not connect to the internet and thus, internet speeds have nothing to do with Air Link performance. If you are having issues with Air Link, this could be a sign of a bad connection to the router. For best results and performance we would always recommend the Link Cable.

Hi there,
I understand it doesn't connect via the internet. But it does connect with the router, which is 6G and about 3 feet from the headset. The connection is very good and it works on Virtual Desktop flawlessly.
