UE 4.13 and Mobile SDK 1.0.3 (or newer?)

I don't see anything in Epic's notes about Oculus SDK 1.0.3 and UE 4.13 (preview 1 is out already).

Do you know if UE 4.13 will have SDK 1.0.3 ?

Do you plan to release a newer SDK any time soon (new Gear VR will be available on August 19) and have it in UE 4.13 ? (unless new Gear VR has some functionality to be accessed in newer SDK, I don't really see if newer SDK would be coming soon)

Thanks

  • Preview 1 doesn't include SDK 1.0.3. Support will be added in an upcoming preview. Epic just pushed 1.0.3 support to their Github, so you can pull and build that if you need support right away.
  • The new Gear VR should continue to work with mobile SDK 1.0.0 and up. It's always a good idea to use the latest version, but you should not have to upgrade just to support the new device.

So, 4.13 is out, but I don't see any mentions of 1.0.3 Mobile SDK included (nor multi-view rendering). Do you happen to know if it's in official 4.13 (or maybe will be in one of the upcoming 4.13.x) ?
  • 4.13 includes mobile SDK 1.0.3. MultiView is targeting 4.14, but that isn't a guarantee.

Looks like multiview is in 4.14 pre1, but as an experimental feature? Will it be out of experimental in 4.14 release ?
  • Multiview is a major change to the way the engine works. It will take some time before Epic can confidently remove the "experimental" tag. However, it should be safe for you to use.
