UE4 VR Game Templates
Ok i guess most people already know about this, but i thought it would be a good idea to add a reference here anyway:

Great template created by user mitchemmc that will help beginners getting started with UE4 + Rift integration (the current UE4 defaults are pretty bad in VR). He even added a few useful videos that show how to use it.
EDIT: There are now 2 separate Rift templates!

I am currently getting used to the UE4. I did not put any effort in optimizing for the rift so far, because i dont have a DK yet. So this might speed things up for me. - BrianimationHonored GuestIn case anyone didn't click through to the unreal forum.

I compiled 4.3 yesterday and I'm pretty sure the normal templates are broken. Something about EngineMinimal.h not existing. Even if they weren't broken it sounds like there'd be a lot of work just to get to a basic starting point.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the Oculus plugin working.

EDIT: Finally got these working, but framerate is pretty bad. Question with probably an obvious answer: do my build settings (Development vs Shipping) affect performance?
EDIT: Apparently I was using SDK 0.3.x. With a properly compiled 0.4.1 engine, things seem a little better. - PatimPatamProtegeTemplates based on the new UE 4.4.1 version (Oculus 0.4.1 SDK) are out!

Current bugs that I'm aware of are
1. I kept distortion scale as an option in the menu but It will do nothing for now
2. changing the screen percentage when in direct mode causes the display to lock up and freeze.
3. the FPS in the menu is not accurate
If anyone finds any other glaringly obvious bugs let me know, I suspect there will be some. thanks Mitch. Oh and I'll get around to making a video tomorrow but I think this is me done for tonight.
