8 years agoVR Template project won't build
I'm trying to use UE4.19 from the Oculus repo, and even the most basic project won't build.
Repro steps:
1. Load up UE4.19 (Oculus branch) editor
2. New Project -> VR Template
3. Set these packaging settings:
- Build Configuration: Shipping
- Full Rebuild: True
- For Distribution: True
4. Build for Win64
Build fails with this error:
As a side note, is there a help file somewhere about how to build from UE4 for actually uploading builds to the Oculus Developer backend? What exactly is the binary that we're supposed to upload? What do we specify for Launch File, Launch Parameters, Redistributables, etc.? I can't find anything about this from the help files.

- NeontopHeroic ExplorerDid you tried to do your project in c++?
- Anonymous@Neontop what are you referring to? What can I do with C++ not BP?
- NeontopHeroic Explorer@localstarlight I transfered my project made with ue4.19 from unreal to the ue4.19 of the Oculus repo and built it in c++ with success.
- AnonymousDo you mean building it from Visual Studio instead of building from within the editor?
I just tried that (making a Shipping build from VS2017) and it throws the exact same error:
3>UnrealBuildTool : error : UBT ERROR: Failed to produce item: E:\UE4_Oculus_419\Engine\Plugins\Media\WmfMedia\Binaries\Win64\OculusVRTemplate-WmfMedia-Win64-Shipping.lib
Something is broken here... - NeontopHeroic ExplorerOk try to create an empty c++ project with the Oculus Unreal Engine and build it to see if you can succesfully build that project.
- natanczHonored GuestHello,

I just try simple packaging in UE4 v 4.19 basic VR Motion Controller Map - with no error written game works but there is no reaction of controlls (camera is not moving acording to the movement of the glases or controllers).
