Screen Tearing Artifacts

I'm having issues with my screen tearing on the right eye of my quest pro after a few minutes. There are no issues with the left eye. Changing resolutions, bitrate and turning on/off ASW does not help at all.
(I'm glad you removed the rainbow sparkle issues, but honestly I'd rather have that than severe screen tearing in the right eye)

Settings:
ASW is off, Bitrate is at 500mbps (default) and the meta link app is at default 1.0x resolution @90hz.

PC Specs:
OS: Windows 11 23H2
Intel Core i9 14900KF
64GB DDR5 CL30 6000MT/s RAM
Nvidia Geforce RTX 4080 & RTX 3060ti

System Software/Driver Settings:
HAGS & Windowed Optimizations are disabled
Nvidia Driver 566.36
VSync = Let The 3D App. Decide
Virtual Reality Pre-Rendered Frames = 2

  • I forgot to add that resetting my quest pro & pc does not help. There are no issues there I guess.

Your nvidia driver is well out of date. Latest is 595.79.

This also is not the issue. I've tested numerous driver versions including the latest. The screen tearing issue wasn't an issue with v83 and below.

  • EDIT: The problem is gone after:

    •  updating Quest 3 to PTC v2.3.1
    • full PC software reinstall
    • PC software PTC v2.0.1 update

Same problem, sudden and random tears in wired Link.

Didn't have this problem a month ago. Didn't change anything about my setup aside from the Nvidia driver update and the Meta Link software update

    • 85.0 PC Link, 2.1.1 Quest 3.
    • ODT: 250 fixed bitrate, ASW off, 3 slices for the Sliced Encoding.
    • 5090 with 595.79 driver, 9800X3D, 64GB RAM.
  • This is driving me insane!

I too have this same problem when playing movies in 4XVR in my stand alone Quest 2 or 3 headset. Bought this app a month ago for $30 and haven't enjoyed a single freaking movie after the march v2.1 update.

These weird flickering horizontal or vertical lines ONLY happens in the overlay menu or on screen playing the movie when I move my head eather left or right, up or down. Did multiple factory reset on both headsets and same problem.

Before the v2.1 update, my 4XVR movies were playing perfect! Thought my headset was dying out untill I came across this thread! Can somebody please help us with this problem?
