Yes- Might be. My loved Oculus Rift is an old product but I´m very happy with it and works suprisingly very well for me in DCS.
The good thing is that the very latest update yesterday (or in the night before 30th of september) maybe a kind of hotfix or so, brought stabitlity and performance back.
Now I hope that all the next upcomming updates will not touch anything about that.
Or , which would be better, exclude the old and unsupported products : So here is a special .exe for old Rift users - you are still a part of the Metaverse but just with working drivers and nothing new or any kind of updates any more - maybe some functions will be excluded. If you want to have access to new stuff, please buy new hardware. But we ensure that all the old hardware is still running on your PC as it did the last 5 years.
That would be perfect. Never touch a running system!
