Hello, my Quest 2 updated today to v81. Since the update, every time i try to run the Link software it boots me out of it, back to the Immersive Home. EVERY TIME. I did a COMPLETE reinstall of Quest Link too, two times! And it just refuses to work! Yesterday I was playing fine, what is the problem?
You're not alone. My headset updated to V81.0 and my PC app shows Meta Quest Link App Version 79.0.0.1143.381. The cable is recognized (I get the "allow USB files" message and hear the tones), but PC Link absolutely won't work. After many attempts to get wireless working, it connects, but the display shears, lags, stutters, and the hand controllers look like a drunk person is using them. Completely useless device now.
I was advised to enable PTC in the Meta Link app (Settings -> Beta Version -> Enable PTC). Then close the app. The app should update. After that, the versions in the Horizon OS and Meta Link app will match. After that, it worked for me immediately.
Thank you. Because several others had said that idea DIDN'T work for them, I was reluctant to try it. But...I did, and so far it's working.
Yeah v81 broke my headset as well with regards to link. Not sure how this was missed in the testing they no doubt conducted?
I WANT TO PLAY WITH PC LINK SO BAD but still have this issue,
might try to update windows?
At the same time check your GPU's driver, thats what they told me
daisukilian​ in case your headset is on v81 but the link app is still on v79, just enable PTC in the link app.
Settings - beta - toggle public test channel..... it will update the link app to v81 too, and linking the Quest should work again.
Sadly, it doesn't work for all people, but it's worth try.🙂
Switching to the PTC did work for me...so far. That brought the app up to V81.
