passthrough problem
I’d like to explain the issue to you in detail and describe what has changed for us after the latest Meta Quest 2 system update.
I’ve also sent you several images — each one is numbered to help you better understand the problem.
Here’s the situation:
We run a VR gaming arena, and we host a multiplayer combat game where players play as teams — for example, 3v3 or 2v2.
We use Meta Quest 2 headsets for our project, and everything used to work perfectly in the previous system versions.
In older versions, we had a problem where some players were suddenly kicked out of the game in the middle of a match.
After investigating, we discovered the solution:
by going to Settings → Environment Setup → Passthrough → Turn On Passthrough, and setting it to Off, this would disable the passthrough protection.
Another way was through the main menu, as shown in image (1):
at the top near the Wi-Fi icon, you would see Passthrough marked as “Unavailable.”
Once that was set, the issue was fixed and players could play normally without being kicked out.
However, in version 81, the same problem has returned — some players get disconnected or kicked out during matches.
We tried to apply the same fix, but in this version, the Passthrough option no longer exists in the same settings, as shown in image (2).
Even when pressing the icon at the bottom of the main menu, as shown in image (3), it doesn’t help — the issue persists, and players still get kicked out.
After doing some research, I found that when players accidentally touch the headset using the hand controllers, the Passthrough activates automatically, which causes them to suddenly exit the game.
This is very frustrating because even though we constantly tell players not to touch the headset during gameplay, it still happens and limits their movement and immersion.
This issue has caused us a lot of inconvenience and complaints from customers.
Everything worked perfectly before, and these problems only started happening after the latest update (v81).

on to this issue, please.
