After updating to v83, Quest Link / Air Link won’t launch endless 3-dot loading

Hi everyone,
After updating my Quest to v83, PC Link is no longer working both USB Link (cable) and Air Link fail to launch. As soon as I try to connect, it gets stuck indefinitely on the three-dot loading screen and never enters PCVR.
I’ve already tried all standard troubleshooting steps, including: reinstalling/updating the Meta Quest Link PC app, restarting the headset and PC, switching USB ports/cables, checking USB power settings, updating GPU drivers, resetting Link/Air Link settings, and testing different networks for Air Link. The issue started immediately after the v83 update and worked normally before.
Has anyone found a confirmed workaround, or is this a known v83 compatibility regression that requires a hotfix? Any guidance or official acknowledgment would be appreciated.

not a single one yet, I try reinstalling the link app and now it wont even get out of 35% before the download crashes

  • Hello, I have a solution for this up right now. The solution is temporary until meta fixes the application that is causing a configuration issue. Here is the post with the fix. The comment posted on the post explains a better way to disable the application internet access.

  • Hi everyone, quick update from my side:
The only way I can get PC Link to connect (both USB Link and Air Link) is by keeping the headset offline. If the Quest is connected to the internet, it gets stuck on the endless 3-dot loading and never enters PCVR.
I’m a Unity developer and I have two separate projects:
Meta XR SDK v71: multimodal (hands + controllers) still works normally.
Meta XR SDK v83: multimodal was working perfectly before, but after the crash that came with the v83 update, hand tracking stopped working in multimodal (controllers still work, but hands no longer track/engage in the simultaneous mode).
If anyone has a confirmed fix or if Meta has acknowledged this regression, I’d appreciate any information.

  • My recommendation, use STEAM LINK until all this META stuff get fixed, Steam Link works perfectly, you can even UNINSTALL all Meta Horizon Stuff from your PC, and will work anyways.
