USB Link Speed Test

If you do a "Test Cable" Meta Horizon Link App ... Devices... Quest 3... USB Test ... Test Connection...

No matter what PC Mobo USB port I use, No matter what cable I use ... The test ALWAYS it's saying that I am using USB 2 (and it recommend to use USB 3) ... so, it gives no more than 336 mbits.

That it's the ROOT of the Bitrate problem in this new META HORIZON LINK APP, something that I've NEVER EVER experienced before, since I've got Quest 2, Quest Pro and Quest 3 on ANY version on the headset and Desktop Link App.

The headset it's always recognized by Windows as a USB 2 device... not USB 3

WHY?

Oh and BTW!, this is NOT a problem that EVERYONE has... My brother do not got the problem, same Windows version, same headset and Meta Link App v83

Thanks

  • Hi AEFox2020 :

I'm sorry that you have been experiencing this issue with the v83 update.  We are aware of this issue.  We have reproduced the issue inhouse and our development team is currently investigating it.  We will update you once a fix is available.  Thank you for your patience!

Great to know that you are aware of this, and to know that will be fixed eventually... just looking v81 of Meta Horizon Link could it be a good idea, what changed on v83. I think that the problem it's not even on the headset nor the Meta Horizon Link app ... it's just Windows drivers for the USB Link that are not installed correctly and were deleted in some of the problems of install and uninstall processes of Meta Horizon Link App before the latest beta was available, and it got stuck on bad installations. My brother did not do ANYTHING in a long time, he just one day did the latest updates (non beta), and voila! all working without problem. My guess it's that are "things" that are not been installed on Windows (maybe drivers or register data) with the latest updates of Meta Horizon Link app.

      Thanks!

I am getting the same issue too, any idea when this update might be released?

  • Have you tried connecting your cable to your PC using a USB C-A adapter? This seems to work for a lot of people, and the connection gets recognized as USB 3.
