Astronomy collaboration

I'm interested in getting together with a game designer to add minigames to my astronomy world, Star Central:

I'm a TypeScript coder and Blender modeler so I can help develop games and am familiar with the Horizon Worlds API, but my main area is more in astronomical visualization (I'm a member of the Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) of the European Space Agency' galaxy surveying Gaia Mission).

If you've ever wanted to help with astronomy outreach and to expose people to the latest scientific research on the Milky Way, this might be a good opportunity for you!

  • I'm still looking at ways to improve Star Central and collaborators are welcome. I recognize that right now it is very much a science museum but there are plenty of ways it (or parts of it) could be made more appealing to kids or gamers.

  • I'd like to tag on to this if okay - as with development (Junior Dev), but sound design, ambient music design, I'd be happy to collaborate some tracks and sounds if need be! I feel like I'm in a spacey-mood :)

  • I am new to building but I love astronomy and I am so interested, even if it is just to learn as my next Build I plan to create an Astro and Quantum physics world with experiments and interactive activities. It is so difficult to find others with interests similar to mine and I just think this is amazing!

  • I think that what I'm looking to do in the short term now is not improve Star Central directly (although that is a longer term goal) but to create some simple games that use some of the information in Star Central so players can learn small amounts of information about, for example,  some of the nearby stars. If any one has ideas, please DM me or contact me on Discord.
