Understanding Item Tiers in Meta Horizon
We know you want your digital items to shine and feel meaningful to your community. That’s why we’ve launched a tiering system to help everyone understand the value of each item at a glance.
Every digital item—whether it’s free or paid—gets placed into one of four tiers: Common, Premium, Elite, or Legendary automatically based on things like how much effort or cost is needed to get the item, what it can do, and how rare it is. This helps players make informed choices and gives you a way to highlight your most special creations.
While there are no additional actions required from you right now (as all of your items are automatically assigned a tier), here are some tips and best practices:
- Be consistent with your item details—changing things like cost or rarity can affect the tier and how players perceive your item.
- If you update an item to a higher tier, try to add something new or special so players feel the change is meaningful.
- Clearly communicate what makes your item unique, whether it’s earned through skill or available for purchase.
Remember, the tiering system is here to help you build trust and excitement with your audience. If you have questions or want to learn more, check out best practices. We’re here to help you create experiences that feel rewarding for everyone!
Psst: Also a reminder December Clothing Themes are open for submissions until 30th November.
