Horizon Feed being replaced by Navigator starting in v85
In v85, we’re starting the process to sunset Horizon Feed in VR and shift users to our new UI called Navigator to improve the overall user journey and make exploration in VR more seamless. Navigator lets users quickly access their experiences, friends, and settings, all in one place, for a more streamlined interface.
This shift will be starting tomorrow with a small set of test users, and we will be slowly ramping up testing until releasing to all users later this year.
What the sunsetting of the VR Horizon Feed means for your worlds:
The VR Horizon feed is not a high-intent surface, in that it drives visibility but does not drive as much time spent as other surfaces. With the shift to Navigator, you may see a drop in your top-funnel impressions, but users coming from other worlds discovery surfaces may be more inclined to spend time in a world that matches their preferences. Our past guidance on driving discovery still holds and we recommend reviewing best practices here.
Thank you!
