Quest Pro performance upgrades
As part of our effort to continue bringing improvements to our in-market products, in v60 we are enabling higher clock speeds for Quest Pro CPU and GPU when running MR applications, giving you a smoother MR app experience and a more responsive UI. This update also adds more power for developers to take advantage of for both existing and upcoming apps.
These performance improvements include (when compared to Quest Pro at launch):
Up to 34% increase in CPU
Up to 19% increase in GPU when Dynamic Resolution is turned on
End-to-end encryption for cloud backup
If you have cloud backup turned on, you can now secure your backups with your own pin for end-to-end encryption. You’ll need to create an end-to-end encryption PIN which will let you restore your backups after a factory reset or when you set up a new device. You can manage cloud backup and end-to-end encryption fromBackupinSystem Settingsand also from the Meta Quest mobile app.

Got another v60 update a couple of days ago on my QPro (version 60.0.0.209.366) and Q3 (version 60.0.0.210.366). Everything seems to work ok and I don't notice any significant changes. I haven't seen the Layout app or that high res mountain scenery yet, but these aren't anything I want or need anyway. The main thing for me with updates is that I'm always very happy if they don't brick my headsets, lol!
Got 'em also for my Q3 and it didn't harm anything... everything works fine as always. But to expect from updates not to brick the device is a bit less @TomCgcmfc . As always no release notes about what was fixed... no layoutapp also.
Basically an update which does nothing - at least for me.
Sales Ranking of Games/Apps and Data of Scoreboard App haven't been updated in the past week. Is this intentional or a fault? If it's a fault, please fix it ASAP.
Newest Update removed the functionality to cast directly to chromecast. Instead user are supposed to cast to the app and mirror their phone screen to the TV.
Before it was easy to cast the screen to the TV if my partner or friends would like to see what happens in VR, now it is just an unstable mess and someone has to mess around with the awful mobile app that often does not even connect to headset or is unable to stream again after disconnection.
Seems every new update don't delivers what it promises and on top of that removes functionality. I am very disappointed in the "support" (more like anti-support) Quest3 gets.
I have noticed that too, I wanted to delete several pictures and accidental recordings at once but I had to select, delete and confirm each one at a time. This took ages.
Working on a issue with my Pro controllers, they have worked will with the Quest 2 so I thought I'd give them a try with the Quest 3, paired them and they got a small firmware update but since then they glitch from time to time! Can't see enough light, not tracking at all, left one keeps saying it's over heating.
Tried to repair them with the quest 2 left one works great (no overheating warning at all) but while the right on is connected (oculus button works) no tracking at all. Funny thing is when it's connected to the Q3 it cuts out the hand tracking on the right controller.
Anyone else experienced this or heard of the issue? I've done all the basic steps, pairing/un-pairing, restarting the controller but still no luck. I suspect it was the v60 update that
I heard from a guy who knows one of the kitchen staff at Meta that this update would grant immortality while wearing the headset. I know the your programmed official response will be, " No, there is no such thing! Please, take care while using any VR headset!" and I get "it". Obviously, it does not grant immortality! 😉
I will definitely be careful while playing as always! 😉
Not going to run into traffic while playing my Quest 3, that would be dumb! 😉
Yet another minor update about 4.8 MB according to the update software display. Automatic updates except security patches is disabled. Info on updates note the update may be installed automatically at such and such a date. Why give an option to not automatically update if it's going to automatically update anyway?
Still no Layout app. Still no Lakeside Peak environment.
Yesterday i was playing DCS World connected to PC via Virtual Desktop and it was perfect but suddenly it started to lag, later i noticed, for some reason, my WiFi connection, that stayed always at 2400 mbps up and down connection can barely achieve 1200/866 mbps.
Restarted the Quest 3
Restarted the Router (Xiaomi AX9000)
Reset to factory defaults the Quest 3
It doesnt change anything and no, its not a router fault, my PC can still connect at 2400mbps to the router without problem
Any news about the Layout utility app? I searched for an alternative app in the meta store because i want to buy a new sideboard and i made up some space for it in my living room. I layed down a flat piece of cardboard in the correct size to see if the sideboard would fit but a real 3D box with the correct meassurements in mixed VR would be much more useful, thats why i am interested in this Quest feature. Is there any update when the layout App will arrive? Maybe nobody has this app because i never saw any video about it. Maybe its coming with V62?
Have some of these problems with pro controller too, like they sometimes fail during gameplay or their avatar is set away from their real position. When booting the system the controller are always not in the right position and it takes some time before they are recognized properly. If this happens during gameplay it helps to reboot them, press the menu or oculus button for 10 seconds until the controller turns off. Pushing the buttons again starts them new.
By the way many people don't know that the pro controllers can be turned off, but it is necessary for some games that only use one controller like Walkabout Golf, since the Pro controller don't automatically turn off when not in use, another long known bug of the Quest OS.
Why do you advertise new things in the changes that do not exist in practice? I'm waiting for a layout application and a lakeside for the home space. V60 and even V62 does not have these. I live in Europe Finland. Also, spatial video, I can't upload a video in the gallery of the meta quest application. There is no option for upload! The latest updates have been installed and I have iPhone 15 Pro.
EDIT: now I can upload spatial videos, it was suddenly updated without any notice. The Lakeside view and the Layout app still missing.
