With v66, we’re reducing the amount of visual distortion in Passthrough on Meta Quest 3. We’ve put out a number of Passthrough-related improvements in the last few software updates, but this is the big one, and it will significantly improve the Mixed Reality experience. Check out the blog for all the details: https://www.meta.com/blog/quest/meta-quest-v66-software-update-reduced-passthrough-distortion-backgr...
May I ask why I can't see the full version of v66 news? I remember that I could see it here before, and the blog only has a simple introduction and does not have complete news. Can you provide a link to the complete news?
Please can someone explain what the hell is going on with UK releases of the PTC..? I'm on v66 and these are the following so called improvements that i've NOT gotten yet..?
1. Furniture mapping. (v65 release)
2. Multi modal. (v64 release)
3. Hide unused Apps. (v66 release)
4. Sleep timer (v66 release)
5. Improve passthrough (v66 release)
6. Voice control (v52 release)
I haven't gotten any of these on both my Q3 & QPro ? and yes i've tried both opting out of the PTC & a full reset and nothing..?
I believe we did receive the improved passthrough from v64 (I think it was)
I haven't updated to v66 yet although the PTC release can be fairly watered down compared to the future public release.
Multi modal is an issue on Quest as well as the Meta glasses, I do believe this is a little more complicated regards to the regulations of each country so I'm giving Meta the benefit of the doubt here.
We are waiting for the server problems to be solved, no updates can be made, there are currently bricked devices on first setup because of the servers not responding to ota update requests
I am now running 66.0.0.659.370 and each time I have 6e connected when the quest 3 goes to sleep when I put it on it says wifi is connected but its not. The busy circle never goes away when searching for update, also games that need the Internet do not launch. To get it working I just disconnect wifi then immediately connect and it works. I think other wifi like 2.4g or 5g do the same.
I asked these questions a week ago and got no answer. switched back to v66 release version and apart from the wrist button and furniture mapping nothing else..!!
1. Multi modal. (v64 release) Doubt will ever see this feature either.!
2. Hide unused Apps. (v66 release) Such a simple feature to do and still not working
3. Sleep timer (v66 release)
4. Improve passthrough (v66 release) How about doing something with the Quest Pro's too.?
5. Voice control (v52 release) Given up hope of ever getting this feature.!
Justmetoo if the little circle never goes away try going to wifi in the quick settings, open the connection it says is in use. Then disconnect and immediately connect again. See if that helps.
@justmetoo Just keep calm and wait... could be weeks to get the update. Even new features could be last longer, which maybe activated later after update.
I'm sittig on v65 and it works. What to wish more?
Had v66 for nearly 2 weeks now and the only new thing about it is the wrist button, no improved pass through, no hide uninstalled apps, no anything else you said was in this update! come on what gives?? Don't give out a press release and back it up with nothing but air!!!!
Three versions later the Lakeside Peak environment finally makes its appearance. May have been worth the wait as this will be one of my favorites.
Problem with losing headset pairing with Air Link after power downing still exists. However you no longer have to go into system setting to first disable link and re-enable to initiate the pairing. As I recall this was the exact behavior in much earlier releases probably when Air Link was still experimental.
Nothing like taking two steps back for every step forward.
I have had 66.0.0.730.370 for a few days and I have tried a 6g and a 5g wi-fi connection but I found that 6e 6g connections will drop for a split second. So I have gone back to 5g but for virtual desktop I would like to ise a 6g connection.
My Quest 3 updated to v66 but the passthrough looks about the same (still a lot of distortion). Is there a setting I need to adjust in the options somewhere?
Also any ETA about the bug fix with the constant WiFi disconnected?
