Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v62 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!
The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v63 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.
If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v63 jump on over to ourGet Helpboard and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v63" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v63 issuestoo.
It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.
Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.
We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!
Unfortunately no occlusion yet, same with lakeside peak environment, maybe got scraped tho. I expect it to be just bug fixes and stability improvements, as it's just been a week since the last update.
@reveriekindred I don't think there are any PTC notes. You either have to find the things yourself, wait for someone to find them or wait for meta's full release notes.
On this new PTC v63 (63.0.0.150.361) some PCVR games refuse to launch (proccess open go up to a few mb and close). 100% reproducible with DCS World Steam Edition (ST and MT).
Turning off PTC and rolling back to 62.0.0.235.346 fix the problem.
i I don't get it. I have been in the test channel since it started. And Can't find any of the new features and I don't think they're working because I don't see anything new and why does this happen? Quest, please fix my new updates so that they work correctly because I don't even see them. I don't know where they are. are there release notes?
@Sphar-Kee There are no PTC release notes. There are just the normal ones that come later. Eventually, you can find them here. You have to find new things or wait for somebody to find them.
I can confirm games such as DCS that use OpenXR fail to launch with v63. I also note that v63 is only installed on the Oculus PC app on my PC and not on the headset. Is this the problem? Incompatible build on PC and headset? If I turn off PTC on the Oculus PC app and revert it to v62, DCS launches normally.
@jimmie.312807 Have you tried using steamvr for dcs instead? They probably changed something in their API breaking other things. Maybe finally presence platform features?
Can't load any game on my computer through airlink without the tracking restarting over and over..
I also lose half of my pass through the behind me and have to restart the device before it stops it worked fine before that date I literally just did it Don't see any other change at all can't play any games though real sad
It didn't roll back the update to v62 like it was supposed to so I am suck with no new Quest 3 I bought all these games for until a new update I suppose..
I Hope it don't take 4ever I spent like 600$ on it and can't play it .. smh ..

Is there no quality control here like this is a really bad update Even for beta nothing works anymore..

I can't use my quest at all I reboot still no tracking can't do anything without the screen resetting over and over

I literally got an unusable $600 device i invested all my funds buying games that work on only on this device because y'all stop putting out the PC versions of games to prevent crossbuy and to push people to play only on the meta platform that you all broke by sending out a beta update without testing for some reason cuz I feel like if y'all tested this beta y'all would have seen it is definitely broke and doesn't work for nothing..
Why would you allow this to be even a beta update ?
Why wouldn't somebody try this out first before giving it to other people it's so obviously broke..
like I'm all for beta but wow was this even tried out very amateur from professional people...
@jollyjesus Hmm, that makes sense. Didn't think about that. So turning off PTC doesn't roll back the device? That's weird. Try contacting support if you haven't already because I have no idea what that could be. They will probably tell you to factory reset the device, so backup app data to sidequest.
just updated to v63 on quest 3 and no steam game works through cable says its launching infinitely when its already on the monitor or just crashes instantly
@MrBIO toggling the switch to disable the test channel updates doesn't change any settings whatsoever on the Oculus 3 even after factory resetting..

Tried re-enableing test channel clearing the app out and toggle on it and resetting and retargeting different combinations doesn't give me an option to do any type of update except when I go to power off the normal power off and update which usually just goes on forever and never finishes like it normally does..
I'm not trying to call anybody a liar but I figured the tech support guys would know what version of software was the latest

Like The person was totally oblivious to anything I asked a screenshot the whole conversation it was so ridiculous the things he had me do like resetting my boundaries after he knew I factory reset three times and boundary has been reset a bunch of times and it's still not working everybody was having the problem but yeah I had to do all the manual stuff he had me do over and over the normal troubleshooting just to tell me that I can't do nothing about it basically because this is the latest software and it's not a PTC update and I'm stuck with a messed up device till the next update I would hate that to be true after all the money I've sunk into meta
So are we all on version 63 And is it messed up for just me or everyone?
Like after all All the trouble and the time I spent on the text with tech support he did nothing and I'm literally told me that I was on version 63 the same version as everybody now like it's not a beta and then stop talking and responding hung up on me
@jollyjesus v63 is PTC only, there are no release notes for it and then only happens on PTC versions. I am currently on 63.0.0.146. If support couldn't help, I guess there is nothing to do than wait for Meta to release a new update.
Just got the regular v63 maybe if tech support was not fibbing update and all is well so far.
Edit ..It did not work at all after all my games installed tracking issues with boundaries and half The pass through disappears..
The dude who tested this and said put it out for other people to download owes me some money

Nope v63 normal firmware supposed that's what the tech support guy says I have the latest normal firmware not the public test channel firmware and it still messes up tracking does not work at all ..
it worked long enough for me install the apps try two games try virtual desktop last thing I did was test out airlink which worked fine so I plugged it up to install the rest of my games now it's not working again.
boundary issues that render it useless

I don't even think I'm on the regular firmware I still think I'm in the PTC no matter what the tech support guy said I think he was just lying cuz he hung up on me after saying it how rude was that but anyways no help nothing working thanks everybody for trying this is really really annoying I can't believe they would release firmware this bad and now I can't revert can't turn back to anything I just got to wait it out I guess till the next update whenever that may be That's not cool..
$600 I spent on this device I just wanted to play a game that I purchased for the device One of the many games that only work on the device because they stop putting a PC version in the store..
I can't keep factory resetting it.
Tried everything so I'm stuck that's not cool it said it would roll back and it did not roll back.. And I think they lied to me and told me it did I don't think anyone's on non PTC v63 ..
Now I'm stuck not playing VR going back and forth to here and tech support everyday till I get it fixed that sucks
I understand that there will be bugs I love helping as well but I know sometimes the updates take a long time and my device is not working at all because of this update and they told me it reverted back not v62 but v63 on the regular channel
And if I am on the regular channel it dont work as well if so I don't know if they told me the truth or not.
The guy stopped responding after saying it was on version 63 and that was normal..
I went back to tech support and they said there's already a ticket out and will not help me I tried again and then it says The text chat thing has an error and it won't even let me try to get help now ..

As I said before, I'm on version 63 after I tried rolling it back on a factory reset, so, I don't know. I have not tried on all of the games, but I have no issues.

after powering off and The tracking stops resetting over and over and the app that's messing it up for me so far has been virtual desktop it'll work for about 5 minutes and then starts the boundaries issues and resetting tracking over and over
