Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v63 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v64 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.  Please note that there is also a test for PTV v63 that is still ongoing, so don't be surprised if you find that you get a new version of that instead to begin with.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v64 jump on over to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v64" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v64 issues too.

It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

If I may say I was excited for the passthrough being clearer although,.... It's way worse , even if I light up my whole house the passthrough is so dull and dark now  they def messed it up in my opinion. I'd rather have it the grainy way and have it brighter

Not everyone cares about using a phone when in VR 🙂

Friends from Meta Company,

do we really as a community need to start posting negative reviews OUTSIDE OF THIS FORUM so that you pay attention to what users want from the platform? I don't know if you've noticed but there are alternative headsets or even smart glasses coming out and a group of dissatisfied Quest users may point wallets of people looking for a decent vr solution to products outside of Meta's portfolio?

Sincerely,

A customer who spend 700 USD on apps and is getting angry

@M0RIATY the quest pro has 3 cameras 2 black and whites and one full color it combines the image of the two black and whites cameras with the full color making it look not the best and i dont think they can change that with only software.

Yes, 120 res gone, no lay down mode, apps crash.  Horrible ghosting and halos.

The Quest Pro has completely different controllers than the Q1 & Q3 and every PTC release we get updates to the controllers, yet never have I seen a change log or release update as to what these updates are doing to the controllers ?? Or is it just a version number update so it matches the headsets number ?

@M0RIATY yeah thats kinda bad the fact that they dont give us any change log especially for ptc

Lets be honest here Meta is a social media company playing at being a manufacturing company!! Give them another 20 years and the idiot top brass might have it figured out by then??? lol

What verion of software will I have on my Quest 3 when I perform factory reset? Would it be the version I received it with, so v62?

Why is the quest pro so bad just in the main menu. It barely can handle it , glitches and in passthrough the menu is smooth

The quest 1 ran smoother than the quest pro. It doesn't make sense

I just bought my quest 3 brand new yesterday, when I first set it up and updated to public update v63, everything was perfect and I had zero issues whatsoever, but then I got curious about the laying down mode, so I enrolled to PTC and updated to v64 after updating to v64 and restarting my Quest 3 It created very noticeable and very disturbing white halo or glare/ghosting/lens fog in bigscreen app, quest menu and youtube vr reducing the brightness or increasing the contrast or cleansing the lens with microfiber doesn't solve the issue, retrograding to v63 and deleting all data don't solve the glare/lens fog/halo issue. The issue is a total immersion breaker and was not present at all in v63 public update. PTC v64 update broke my quest 3 screen/lenses and caused unacceptable glare around black edges and while watching videos and gaming and browsing menus especially noticeable when I turn my head even just slightly, please never release this update v64 to the public before the issue is correctly identified and fixed.

Ok, anyways, scoped storage is a crazy idea for v65 🗣🗣

I am running 64.0.0.484.xxx I think and every 2 hours or so the 6GHz wifi 6e connection drops momentarily. This seems to crash some multiplayer games. Is this a problem in v64 code or my ASUS router?

Since updating, my Quest 2 seems to experience regular lag spikes on the network. Ping goes up into the hundreds of ms and Steam Link drops frames almost rhythmically. Been using Steam Link over a 5Ghz 802.11a network just swimmingly up until this update was pushed. Already troubleshooted everything from the PC and network end to no avail.

also seems to be phoning home *a lot* according to my network monitor.

I hate this.

If not already known: after update v64 and activation of lying down mode, the floor height in apps is no longer correct.
I was always too tall in Beat Saber, Pistol Whip and co.
Turn off lying down mode, restart and you're no longer a giant.

While the passthrough is still garbage and the videos on any app is blurry, laying down mode is fixed with PTC V65.

received v65 (not PTC but actual released version),  and Link is broken !
Really , why don't they actually test their software thoroughly before releasing new versions?!?!?

This is not the first time that something which worked fine , after a month or few months gets broken after a (mandatory , with no option of rollback) update...

Seriously thinking about switching to a Pimax Crystal Light and quit my Meta allegiance (own the Q1 , Q2 and 2 Q3's but it's always stuff like this that makes for a very bad customer experience. Will they ever learn? Probably not...
Shame on you Zuck for not hiring better software testers and better management for them.)
