Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v67 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v68 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v68:

1) For issues: Go to our
Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v68" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v68 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

*HDMI Link App*: Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth showed off a new HDMI Link app which lets you plug in any device to your headset so you can see that device on larger virtual windows ¹.

I'm trying to figure out on how to go back on standing up and scan the room boundaries, in stead of sitting down lol. No luck on the solution

I rolled back today to V68 and found out the Meta Quest HDMI Link app goes directly to Prototypes before installing

The Vivitar HDMI to USB Video Converter is a UVC (USB Video Class) and UAC (USB Audio Class) compatible device. I'll be testing on the Meta Quest HDMI link app. They sell it at Walmart for 20 bucks.

Do Not Disturb now only allows you to set it for 30 min, 1 hour, or till midnight.  No way to just leave it on.  Please add back the ability to leave this setting the way I set it!

I got new non-PTC v68 updates today on both my Q3 and QPro headsets.  Version 68.0.0.718.364

All seems to work fine with standalone and PCVR with Link and Air Link.  I did seem to have have some problem with my Q3 left controller not activating properly.  Removing the controller battery and then replacing it seemed to fix this.  I'm not sure why the No Disturb feature has been changed.  I just leave it disabled so I get updates on app updates.

Overall, I don't see any significant differences, nor have I seen any new features, including adaptive brightness.

@TomCgcmfc with them investigating the experimental features today I hope they find the solution next week

We've got Meta Quest Support, LordArceus send in a response to Jumpiestpants04

Hey again, @Jumpiestpants04! No worries at all. Thanks for providing this!

On having a bit of time to reflect on the issue I know what has happened now!

Although we are on PTC V69, features for V67 and V68 are still being rolled out to Quest users. It would seem that this specific feature of the V67 update has just been rolled out to you now.

On going back and checking through the Quest Release Notes, I can see it states the following for the changes to Do Not Disturb:

"We’ve made a number of improvements to the Do Not Disturb setting. You can now select different durations for Do Not Disturb. You can turn this feature on from Quick settings. If you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you can also control this feature from Notifications."

Although this provides an explanation for the change I know it doesn't provide a solution for your specific VR needs. Please feel free to drop a suggestion on the Ideas Forum for a Do No Disturb setting that would fit your needs.

This is the worst update since I bought this helmet. With each passing day, I'm thinking a little bit more about buying something made by you again. Not chasing the record for update with the most defects?  Screen that is warped 45 degrees more than once Almost impossible to use the helmet for PC games because out of 100 tries it works 1-2 times Horrible performance often, in all the time I've had the helmet it must have been correctly positioned 5% of the time on the floor in the home, once it even turned off and on by itself without warning or anything, the microphone often activates when it was off, I turned off updates and when the helmet was stopped, but it turns it back on every time. A complete mockery of people. Spreading an update relative to where they are which is not correct. Either for all or for none.

@CharmedsV69 will be the official minimum update for Meta Horizon Worlds. Are you not on V69? I see nothing wrong with the update. Except missing experimental features

@Charmeds  I don't see the problems with v68 on my Q3 and QPro (non-ptc version v68.0.0.718,364) that you have mentioned.  Maybe your v68 installation files got corrupt or something?  You may want to try doing a factory reset.  Otherwise, contact meta support and see if they can help.  Always possible your hardware is defective.  Good luck sorting this out mate and cheers.

Hello! Most of the problems happened from the previous two and this 68 update. Before that, everything went with a minimum of problems, such as the problem with the floor, which was usually temporarily fixed with a new version. The connection to the computer worked in most cases. I'm Quest 2 and I'm not on the 68 beta trial, I don't even know how to activate it. I'm waiting for 69 to see if there will be any changes. I don't want to reset because I'll both lose progress and settings, and setting up the helmet is more complicated than it needs to be anyway. When I first started and connected the computer, it still didn't work and I found myself miraculously removing the helmet from my profile to first set it up with a phone and only then connect it to a computer.

You could factory reset your headset or tried rolling in ptc on your mobile phone and rolled out, but either way it will factory reset. There are ways to backup your gameplay @Charmeds

Sounds like you might have to trigger the update by a factory reset no matter. PTC activation is on the headset settings on the Mobile app

Activate PTC:  Go to Profile - the 3 lines on the top right corner - Devices - Headset Settings. I forgot the actual last setting name.

Hello.

Firmware v68 is causing issues with my PCVR use.

First, I can't set my Quest 3 to "do not disturb" anymore. I don't want to be disturbed while I'm playing a game or doing anything else in PCVR. This option has been removed and replaced with a very limiting "until midnight" as maximum set time.

My Quest 3 started to beep for every little thing now. If I pickup the headset, it beeps. If I put it down, it beeps when it times out. I don't need a beep to tell me I've put on or taken off the headset - I kinda know that already.

Further, and this is the most serious issue, it now obsesses with knowing where the controllers are and wanting them connected at all times. I rarely use controllers in PCVR, no need for them. Worse, when the "press button to wake controller" banner is displayed, it resets my PCVR game PoV. It does this at seemingly random times so I have to keep resetting my PoV in game.

Instead of these, frankly, useless features, please work on gracefully reconnecting to PCVR when the connection is temporarily lost. The PC Quest app should keep the connection established as far as the game/app is concerned. This will allow the system to connect back in without losing track like it happens today.

To sum it up:

1. We should have a permanent DND if we so wish, especially when connected with Link.

2. I don't want to be reminded to wake up my controllers, much less have my PoV reset by the injection of the notification on screen.

Thanks,

JR

The new options for "Do Not Disturb" have no sense and this is a very big problem for a software developer like me... add a chose to let it be enabled for ever (or let chose this on developer options).

The "Do Not Disturb" mode is the only way to hide the popup when controller and hand tracking is boot off and i need to let all controller off.
