Yep my Meta AI kicked in around 11am central yesterday. I haven't played much because it's a pain in the rear having to x out all of those windows all the time.
@KungFutse81 I just tested it out. Yes Meta talks fast but if you go to the Meta AI section in setting, click on activity and there is a log of your conversation. I just asked a simple question to test but it's there. Not sure if you can find that activity on the app or not. I made some suggestions to Meta yesterday through the Meta.AI website and those suggestions were passed on. I'm compiling it now for the ideas to see if other users would be interested in it.
I just noticed that the default encode resolution for Quest Link on Quest 3 has been changed to the max resolution (max is 4096). I think it was 3664 like Quest 2 a while ago.
Quest Link is completely unoptimized and consumes an extraordinary amount of VRAM (it consumes around 2.5GB at 4096. If we use Dash, it consumes another 1GB more, it's like running another 3D game). Above a certain encode resolution, it doesn't make much difference. 4096 is basically meaningless. it just squeezes VRAM.
Meta should revert it back to 3664. If you aren't going to revert or optimize it, you should add encode resolution setting to the Quest Link app for people.
Those new advances display settings sound nice. Be nice if they also add option to adjust color saturation or vibrancy globally....to allow us to make the colors "pop" a little more.
The Meta Quest v69 update is expected to include several new features, such as:
- *Seamless Multitasking*: This experimental feature will allow users to keep any panel in the foreground and take it with them seamlessly into running VR apps ¹.
- *Spatial Audio for Panels*: The panels may also receive spatial audio, which will make the audio sound like it's coming from their location around the user ¹.
- *Native Windows Desktop Streaming*: A string indicates that Microsoft is implementing native desktop streaming for Meta Quest on Windows, eliminating the need to install a dedicated streaming app on the PC ¹.
- *Codec Avatars*: The update will introduce the use of Codec Avatars, which will allow for more realistic avatars in VR ¹.
- *Volume Buttons as Action Buttons*: The update will also allow users to use the volume buttons as action buttons, which will give users more control over their VR experience ¹.
Please note that these features are still in the experimental stage and may not be available in the final version of the update ¹.

AFAIK, the warmth setting is similar to others normally found in android os, it makes the screen warmer for helping to ease eye strain, by shifting from more blue light to warmer tones. That's all I know. Not the same as adaptive brightness or the other settings you've mentioned.
Unless they start addressing a few of the issues I brought up with them my time with the headset is over. I do not like multiple windows. The multi windows pop up all over the house. Yet they won't fix or address this issue. A single window for me is fine and I have no idea why they can't just simply add a toggle button for multiple windows for those of you who do like it and single window mode for someone like me who doesn't like another window popping up. I'll include a photo at the bottom of this window. And Argh, for the millionth time, why can't they allow us to totally disable boundary when in passthrough or sitting. It's sort of obvious that when we are in passthrough that we can see where we are going, which that is the purpose of passthrough. Therefore boundary is not needed for that and it's redundant. I know I'm not the only one that feels that way. Sitting may be different as the headset can't detect as far as I know whether we are sitting, but again, if we're watching something off of Meta TV I think it's hard to walk around while watching a movie or video. Maybe some of you do, who knows, but to have to constantly redraw my boundary every time I want to watch a video really just kills the enjoyment for m and in disgust I turn the thing off and leave it for days. I spend more of my time closing out these multiple windows and resetting my boundaries in apps and passthrough where it's really not needed to be then actually watching videos or using my meditation apps and then it's back to being charged again and I don't like the feel or tug of a cable while I'm wearing the headset. Ok I hope Meta eventually decides to pop in and check these comments. I still have tickets I sent to them last week they haven't responded to.
Struggling to see the issue with the windows. I certainly don’t have windows all over my room so not sure what’s going on there. And, as I’ve highlighted, it’s up to app developers to disable boundaries on passthrough. I get that meta tv needs updated but I’ve been watching iplayer, Apple TV+ and Netflix in the browser theatre mode with no boundaries whatsoever. Other than meta TV, which I accept is meta’s issue, you really need to be directing your ire at the people who make whichever app is forcing you to use boundaries. In fairness, it’s my understanding that the ability to disable boundaries is recent so app developers will need some time. It’s really not for meta to address though.
Regardless, it’s sounding like your frustrations with the headset are hampering your enjoyment so it’s probably best to move on from it. Life is too short!
But Quick settings, and settings and passthrough are part of Meta's development. The creator of let's say Titanic VR didn't put passthrough on the headset. That was Meta that did that, and so passthrough and boundary is part of Meta's problem. Now if I'm going into Prime Video or Real VR Fishing, then yes, then I see the need for the boundary, but again, the boundary itself is there by Meta and it really needs to be revamped. We shouldn't have to keep redrawing a boundary every time we are in our gaming room. If we don't post these things on here, then what is the point of beta testing? We beta test so we can see what works and what doesn't work and let Meta know. Otherwise they wouldn't know and we'd wind up with a bunch of useless features.
I think he's right on the boundaries, everytime I'm rolling back or forth to different versions or factory reset I get this automatic prompt on making a boundaries. I didn't asked for it. But I pretty much ignore it.
And I understand that all of us have our own unique needs and wants, but if 100 people want single mode and no one mentions it then Meta will assume that everyone (including those 100 people) want multiple windows. If however, those 100 people mentioned what they wanted and didn't want then Meta would work on a "compromise" which is a toggle. I am not understanding why adding a toggle is so hard or would make you upset? It just allows everyone an option. Switch for a moment. What if you wanted the ability for multiple windows but every thing was single window and Meta never acknowledged that? Or if you wanted boundary on everything, including passthrough even in meta's apps, and you knew a lot of other people agreed with you, but Meta never addressed that idea or you were told to get rid of your headset?
My suggestion is not remove boundaries completely, but it's redundant to have it in passthrough. If all I have is universal menu open and go from one room to the next, setting a boundary is useless considering I can see where I'm going. and to have to stop and redraw because I don't want to see the blue boundary marker when I do pull up (I'll use Youtube as an example) Youtube to follow through with a recipe in the kitchen, although I'm watching from Meta's browser and can see both Youtube as well as my surroundings, is very annoying.
There's a good thing on having a "toggle" for boundaries, and a downfall for having it on disabled as default. People will start using it on Virtual Games if it was disabled automatically, with a "toggle". And that can be a hazard.
You can disable the boundaries on the Meta Quest 3, but it's not recommended as it can lead to accidents or injuries. Boundaries are in place to keep you safe while playing VR games or experiences.
To disable boundaries on Meta Quest 3:
1. Go to Settings > Guardian
2. Toggle off "Guardian Boundary"
3. Confirm that you want to disable the boundary
Note that disabling boundaries will remove the visual and audio warnings, and you'll be able to move freely without restrictions. However, be cautious and aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents.
Keep in mind that some games or experiences may still implement their own boundaries or restrictions, even if you've disabled the Guardian Boundary.
You cannot disable boundaries using YouTube VR on the Meta Quest 3. YouTube VR is an app that runs within the Meta Quest environment, and it respects the boundary settings you've configured in the Meta Quest settings.
To disable boundaries, you need to exit YouTube VR and go to the Meta Quest settings (Settings > Guardian) to toggle off the Guardian Boundary. Note that disabling boundaries is not recommended, as it can lead to accidents or injuries.
Once you've disabled boundaries in the Meta Quest settings, you can then launch YouTube VR or any other app, and the boundary warnings will be disabled. However, be cautious and aware of your surroundings to ensure a safe experience.
App developers can choose to disable boundaries. Meta have allowed app developers the option of forcing boundaries or not. If the app developers decide ‘no we’re having a boundary’ then go complain to them.
Also…it’s absolutely not redundant to have boundaries in passthrough. I have a relatively tight space and I absolute need boundaries on in eleven table tennis even when playing in passthrough. It’s a helpful warning in case I get too engrossed in the game. More importantly it also highlights if I’m about to hit something behind me.
To see a blue circle when you walk from one room to the other to me is distracting? Why is this suggestion upsetting you so much? If we're of age it should be our decision as long as we agree to take on full responsibility of what happens. No matter how many times I set or reset the boundary I'm still told you are out of your boundary. I even walked the entire floor to set and still got the error. And disabling at this point removes passthrough.
I don't get lines. Mine is a circle, even when I have the browser open and up close to the ceiling and can see my real floor with the cat laying at my feet.
In not sure what’s so difficult to understand. If I stick within the meta os, use the menus, view stuff on the browser including viewing media there are no boundaries. I can use metas Facebook app, instagram, WhatsApp Facebook messenger. I can watch Netflix in a browser, YouTube in a browser, bbc iplayer etc etc. I can watch all this stuff on a giant screen in theatre mode. And there no boundaries. Zero…None whatsoever. I can walk from room to room all over my house without any pop ups warnings or anything.
On the other hand, If I open up an app (such as the YouTube app) and the creator of ‘that app’ has programmed it in such a way that requires the user to create a boundary then I need to create a boundary. If I’m unhappy about it, I need to raise it with the app developer.
2. Go to Developer Settings (Settings > Advanced > Developer Settings)
3. Scroll down to the "Passthrough" section
4. Toggle off "Show Out-of-Bounds Warning"
This will disable the warning message that appears when you step out of the designated play area while using Passthrough. Note that disabling this warning doesn't remove the boundary restrictions, and you should still be cautious when moving around to avoid accidents or injuries.
Keep in mind that some apps or experiences might still implement their own boundary warnings or restrictions, even if you've disabled the Passthrough out-of-bounds warning.
Two photos. One is in passthrough. The other is from Meta TV. Both show the blue circle. And again why are you so resistant to having a toggle? Everyone is happy then. But all you want to do is tell me to get rid of the headset. Why are you resistant to my suggestion on this? No matter how large I try to make the boundary when in an app the blue circle still shows up. And it's obvious that I can see where I'm walking in passthrough. If I run into walls while in passthrough then I have larger issues and need an eye seeing dog (neither of them in photo are) and not be on a headset. The blue circle is distracting. Why is that hard to understand?
May as well do that as Meta AI is not fully "intelligent" at the moment. Maybe by public release it will be though. I'll try that and see what happens.
I'm not trying to drive this problem more deeper, nor taking sides. I'm here to help, but sometimes I don't have all information, and learning is my to help
