Should I notice a significant improvement over Unity audio?

I wanted to try out using the unity native plugin to see if I could improve our audio. I did a number of tests and I'm not seeing much of an improvement. I thought for a bit that the plugin just wasnt working but I opened the test scene with the balls and while I can tell things are different with and without the ONSP source the audio just seemed a bit different not much better.

Is the Unity spactializer already pretty decent or am I just hearing challenged or might there be something wrong with my setup? Really not trying to start a flame war as I love good quality audio and was hoping this would be a big improvement for our VR experience.

Hi there,

You should be able to notice a significant improvement in pinpointing the audio in a 360 degree sphere over positional-only panning.

Perhaps it's not being turned on; are you able to hear reflections and reverberation in the signal? To test that you are hearing the spatializer working, you may want to go into the Master channel and play with the Oculus Reflection parameters to hear them take effect (changing the room size should make obvious changes in the sounds).

Also, check that OculusSpatializer is selected in the Audio Settings. This needs to be done when installing the unitypackage into a fresh project, since this is a setting that is held within ProjectSettings.
