[UE4] Oculus Audio for Rift without FMOD/Wwise - how ?

I would like to not use FMOD or Wwise. Steam Audio is still in early access.

Is it possible to have HRTF (and whatever other cool features available, like reflections, etc.) sound in desktop VR (Windows) using UE4 ?

If so , how (I don't see any native Oculus Audio plugins for UE4 in the Downloads) ?

Thanks

The Oculus spatializer is integrated into UE4 codebase. This was implemented by Epic and works out of the box. It doesn't not expose all the features like reflections but it does give you HRTF spatialization. The Oculus audio team is planning improve the integration and expose the rest of the features in the near future but no firm date set for that yet.

So, no early reflections and no reverb either ? 😞

Yeah unfortunately that's neither are exposed currently, but you can use the new reverb in UE4.

No ambisonics either?

No ambisonics isn't available in the current integration either. A quick update on this: we're working on upgrading the integration right now, it will take some time but when it's done it will hopefully expose all the features.
