Most of the best Oculus experiences/Demos i have seen have used some form of text to speech to create a range of different voices for use in-game, without the need to use actors. The most realistic TTS voices i have found are from a company called IVONA, but their license fees are thousands of dollars, even their education/elarning license is 650 dollars for 1 year. Can anyone suggest a good affordable (or better still, free) text to speech applicaton for creating voice content for use in oculus experiences?
It just needs to produce .mp3 files so does not need to run real-time. I know there are examples online (the ivona site has one) but i dont think we can use these commercially.
