Electronic music producer reporting in, fellow rifters! Over the years I've composed over 200 tracks in various styles like ambient, chill-out, tribal/cinematic, jungle and dance. I've uploaded a selection on soundcloud: http://www.soundcloud.com/wjvisser
All my tracks are under my own copyright and I have no problem in sharing them for your project. Also, if time allows it, I'm quite willing to compose new music for your games!
Well, I don't want to brag (maybe a little), but this is what I can come up with in 45 minutes. Never made a goa-style track so don't expect an instant classic 🙂
This is actually pretty good, especially for a first try. 😉
The bass needs to be smoother, a simple synth bass accented on pluck is good. The "spinup" period is too long IMO, or when it's getting past the 1st half you can add a beat with no percussion. Speaking of which, it needs to be more pronounced, with vibrant click. Having tambourines or similar instruments splashed all over also helps a lot. After the spinup the melody also stopped - it should've continued instead, in this genre having a lot of sounds going on simultaneously is one of it's traits. The music overall needs more background sounds, having loads of oneshot sounds is normally a good idea.
