In Flight - a skydiving experience

I am eagerly awaiting my HMD kit and I am laying the groundwork for a skydiving experience much like the "Wii Sports Resort" experience (with real wind fan!). All of my tools are in place and I am looking for help with :

Skybox
Clouds

Anyone is welcome on-board...This is going to be jaw dropping. 😄

What engine are you using? I'm an FX artist for SCEA and am considering a Flying Squirrel suit simulation for myself.

Well, if you are using Unity I wonder if Nuaj weather system would work for you.

It depends how they implement the camera system and performance could be too ghastly.
I have it in my MirroredReality demo and can't wait to see if I can tweak it simply to work with the Oculus Rift.
Flying through a real weather system would be phenomenal.

I've got this monstrous 12Gig Unity project which I played with Leap Motion interface in prep for my Oculus arrival.
I've got driving cars, Leap motion control of in game character hands and a mini flight sim I can't wait to see with the OR system.

If you happen to be using Unity dev for this let me know. I may be able to help.

I'm working with a couple of others towards creating data-visualization landscapes, so this seems like a natural match.

Additionally, I'd like to help you establish your asset and content pipelines.

I am feeling the love already and my kit has not even shipped! 😄

-Right now I have the project started in Unity 4
-RaveTV I PM'd you we both work at same company different divisions... Sony DADC Mdr here.
-Harleycw lets skydive into that bad ass 12G monster project!
- Clouds\Skybox are the big things that I want to be perfect
- Physx enabled volumetric coulds would be ideal! With particle emitters at the point when you exit the cloud so you could have a little "poof" trail when you exit a cloud

-Craigtron hell yes! I am stuck when It comes to assets\content. Anything you have landscape wise would be perfect. If you have a random map generation script also that would be sweet!!! Then when you level out with the "wing suit" you would have detailed terrain.

Thanks guys lets make this happen! I have to admit I am a newb with Unity and shaders in general but I have done a lot of dev.

I can't get you terrain... yet. Let me see what I can make happen with regard to that. But if you need SVG files, I can get you SVG files. Lots of 'em. Couple hundred thousand. Maybe more. Like, tonight.

I don't know if Unity has support for SVG files, but these would make really visually arresting particles/clouds.

The good thing is, this content pipeline has been growing (slowly... but steadily) for 5 years and continues to grow (slowly) every day.

Let me know if you're game, and I'll throw up a bunch on dropbox for you to grab and play with.

The HMD in your photo isn't Rift. What is it, and is it Rift compatible?

Great Find! That is beautiful terrain. Quite a shortcut to the full skydiving experience.

I've contacted one of the developers to see about its use. Keep your fingers crossed.
