@LuNjAm, do you have any standard resources you recommend to beginners to use for Blender?

The first thing I usually recommend is to learn as many keyboard shortcuts as you can. This cheat sheet helped me tremendously when I was first getting started.

Yes! general knowledge of the basic hotkeys is the way to go! It will harness a faster and more efficient workflow for sure! Have you seen Basic Hotkey Guide to the Blenderverse   ?

Three more things I always recommend are:

  • Snap tool!! Just like in headset, snap tool can make things much easier to line up, and Blender’s snap tool is much more capable!
  • Merge vertices tool! If you extrude a vertex to make a new edge and snap it to another vertex, you might be stuck with two verts on top of each other. This merges those into one vertex.
  • Decimate modifier!! Some folks like to use assets from places like sketchfab, cgtrader, etc., but sometimes those models can be a little heavy on the geometry. This modifier allows you to lower the geometry without too much effect on the shape of the model. Just lower the slider until you start to see the mesh warp, then bring it back up until it’s where you want it. Then apply it and you’re good.

Hope this helps some of you!!
