Hi - recorded a Loom to try to explain how to duplicate the editor extreme lag or "locking" - currently I am using a Razer RTX 3080Ti laptop / 32GB RAM (not as much as my macbook, but this is just a tester gamer laptop).
1) generate mesh or other AI assets and start the next one before the first finishes
2) try selecting a hierarchy entity object - notice that it does not select, the entire Horizon Desktop Editor just freezes
The video is a bit long and documents an additional gen AI bug where it seems the mesh generator "gets lazy" when you use it too much (or get closer to rate limit)

Another solution for you guys since Unity scroll-UI is such a pain to work with - why not have Horizon Gen AI be part of the horizon creator website panel... so that people can generate (and let it take its time) without needing to lock up the Desktop Editor?

This would be good to submit in a bug report. Submit one under the Main Menu in the desktop editor and add the link to your video along with steps on how you reproduced it.

You can follow up on any feedback under the Main Menu too.

In addition to filing a report in desktop editor like SeeingBlue suggested, I would recommend using the mesh gen tool to generate individual assets instead of full scenes. This is where the tool performs best. You may also get better results and quicker generation times by reducing your Model Size to Medium.
Take a look at this session video from Mentor SpaceGlitterUnicorn to see her working process when generating components for an underwater scene.

Another problem is when i try to submit a bug report using the desktop editor, it keeps crashing. Is there a way to just submit it as a github issue or something

I find that the detail is often a hit or miss even in individual or entire scenes. For example, in trying to generate a vending machine or anything requiring or expecting rigid clean geometry, it looks meshy messy - so might as well just generate it already pre-placed in a scene! For mobile it seems that the entire scene gen look "okay"

Yes, can you submit issues directly in the feedback hub https://developers.meta.com/horizon/feedback/ however submitting directly in product is best because of the additional logs that are sent.
For the Desktop editor crashing while submitting reports, you can also file a ticket with our support team directly here https://metahorizoncreators.zendesk.com/hc/en-us and they may be able to help diagnose those crashes and find the logs for those events.
