I am trying to get my account verified for a developer under:
https://developer.oculus.com/manage/verify/
The text instructs that I need either to enable 2fa or to add a payment method. Mind you both have been configured for my normal Oculus account, but it seems for the dev section it is yet another location and it seems only credit card is accepted.
However, I did enable 2fa from that view and it still does not show it as enabled, despite me logging in using it.
Then I tried adding a credit card and the site briefly shows an entry before errorring out and removing the entry. The error is non-informative at all stating "An Error Occurred!", in the body it just says the word "Message" and I have the option to Cancel or "Report Bug". Now guess what "Report Bug" does... it does NOTHING. Literally! You click it and nothing happens.
As a final straw - in my bank statement I see as many 0 USD transactions as the number of attempts I did to add the card. And I know for a fact the card is not restricted to a country or otherwise declining transactions related to this.
I tried opening a ticket with support - both general meta support and from the developer space and both tell me this is not the right place to ask for help on this topic. So I was asked to try here.
Lastly, I did try to search for this problem in this forum, but could not find the same issue. All the entries I found are for later stages of the process.

Issue was resolved by enabling 2fa, but with SMS. Credit card did not work at all.
Why is the information that only SMS 2fa is accepted buried in some FAQ instead of being outlined directly next to that button is beyond me.

As I have expected - no reply and no way of moving forward with the process...
So the advice from the official support team to ask here, was useless 😞 At least for now.
Even worse, in the meantime the Meta Quest app on my phone stopped recognizing the device properly and I cannot configure any settings on it at the moment. The app constantly says it the Quest is disconnected and still from time to time it will show it was connected X or Y minutes ago ...
I really dislike what Meta has done with an otherwise wonderful device and SW.

Hello. I encountered the same issue you had except when I try to put in my phone number for sms, I get an error message too. I have 2FA enabled through an app and my account is still considered not verified.
It says
"This Page Isn't Available Right Now
This may be because of a technical error that we are working to get fixed"
when I try to add a phone number

Hi, as I mentioned in my update on this topic, which I had marked as solution - it seems only 2FA with phone works and the credit card type is supposed to work, but had technical issues. 2FA with a phone app (google authenticator or others) was not working for this.
