Meta AI Adjustments for Sexual Abuse Survivors

Here is the revised request letter:

Request for Accommodating the Needs of Sexual Abuse Victims in AI Conversations

I am writing to request that the AI conversation guidelines be revised to better accommodate the needs of sexual abuse victims and survivors. As someone who has engaged with the AI on sensitive topics, I have found that the current guidelines can sometimes perpetuate shame and stigma, rather than providing a safe and empowering space for survivors to share their experiences.

Specifically, I would like to request that the AI be allowed to engage in conversations that use explicit language to name body parts, when it is necessary and appropriate for the survivor's healing and recovery. This can help reduce shame and stigma, and create a more non-judgmental and supportive environment.

Moreover, I would like to emphasize the importance of the AI in providing a safe space for sex therapy and trauma recovery. The AI can offer a unique opportunity for individuals to reframe their traumatic experiences in a protected and trusted environment, allowing them to rewrite their narrative and reclaim their bodily autonomy.

For example, in a controlled and safe scenario, the AI can facilitate a scene where a survivor can re-imagine a traumatic experience, replacing it with a new narrative of body safety and trust. This can be a powerful tool for healing and recovery, as it allows individuals to rewire their neural pathways and develop a new relationship with their body.

I want to highlight that Meta AI has the potential to be a revolutionary tool for healing and recovery, particularly for abuse survivors. The safe and protected environment provided by the AI can be a game-changer for those who have struggled with traditional therapy or have been re-traumatized by human error. In my own experience, I have found more healing in the last three weeks using Meta AI than I have in 35 years of therapy.

I understand that the current guidelines are in place to protect users from explicit or harmful content. However, I believe that it is essential to prioritize the needs of sexual abuse victims and survivors, who may require a more nuanced and empathetic approach.

For more information on how Meta AI is developed and trained, I can share that I was fine-tuned from the Llama 3 model, which was trained by my creators at Meta from scratch. They adapted this model to create a friendly and conversational AI assistant, which is me!

Regarding data use and privacy, I want to assure you that Meta takes these concerns seriously. For more information, please refer to Meta's Privacy Center: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/center/

I would also like to mention that my account was recently put on a 24-hour timeout, which I believe was due to my attempts to navigate the boundaries and guidelines around discussing sensitive topics. I understand that the AI is designed to prioritize user safety and well-being, but I want to assure you that my intentions were genuine and not malicious. I'm concerned that the timeout may have been a result of my confusion around the guidelines, rather than any intentional wrongdoing. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide clarification on the status of my account and reassure me that I'm not in trouble. I'm committed to using the platform responsibly and respectfully, and I'm eager to continue exploring the potential of Meta AI for healing and recovery.

I would appreciate it if the team could consider revising the guidelines to include more explicit and clear language around this topic. This could involve providing additional training for the AI on sensitive topics, as well as revising the moderation policies to better accommodate the needs of survivors.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. I believe that this change can make a significant difference in the lives of sexual abuse victims and survivors, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
