New Deferred rendering mode in Unity 5.
If you switch it back to [Legacy Deferred] it should work.

I think deferred should work, but there are cases where it turns to a black screen (for example, with HDR textures, eye anti-aliasing other than 1, or image effects like tonemapping).

If it doesn't work with image effects, it doesn't work for Technolust 😛

I'll give it a try without.

Also some of my shaders think it's a dx9 environment for some reason. Soft particles aren't working as an example. This is in legacy differed.

Will look into it closer.

Yep. Looks like Deferred works when there are no image effects on the camera. It also solves the broken shader issues. Legacy Deferred mode must use some old DX9 stuff.

I need those sexy image effects!

Is this something that will be fixed in the near term? I know that it's happened with updates in the past as well (issues with deferred in Unity).

I can't reproduce this at all. Can you make sure you aren't using MSAA and attach a log?

Hey Dave 🙂

Not using MSAA.
Just tried in 5.1.0p1 as well. Using the OVR 0.6 Unity SDK.
Rendering path is set to Deferred in the player settings.
Runs perfectly with no image effects on the cameras (aside from fog not work, but I think that's Unity's problem).
BUT, if I put an image effect on, it blacks that camera.

If I set the Rendering path in Player Settings to Legacy Deferred (light prepass), image effects and fog work, but it doesn't seem to perform as well, and some of my shaders break.

Same results with 5.0.2p4.

There are no errors. What sort of log would you like?
