Long story short - my son's account was put as an account for ages 13+ erroneously. I contacted Meta Support on August 31st to ask them to correct his date of birth to correctly be a 10-12 year old account that I could supervise.
From 8/31-9/5, I received 5 emails from Meta (only 1 per day), each from a different representative, including the 4th email which indicated the issues was being transferred to a 'specialized team' to investigate the issue (the issue is an incorrect date of birth, that's it).
The last email I received was on 9/5 which I responded to and have not received a reply, including after sending a follow-up email on 9/11 to ask if any updates were available. My son's account is flagged to be disabled in November unless this is addressed.
This level of communication is embarrassing with no option to discuss the matter via phone or chat.

In my experience, sadly, being put through to a specialised team means you have reached the end of what the AI is capable of and you will be ignored from then on.

Another two weeks have passed with no response. It has now been 25 days since my last email response. According to this thread, converting an account to a 10-12 year old child account that my account can supervise is possible. If this takes 4 months, my concern is his account getting disabled before this is resolved.

I know how you feel. Trying to get an answer from facebook or meta is like trying to turn a bedsheet and a hills hoist into a hang glider.
My facebook is being deleted on 4th October with no explanation given. Thousands of hours of work will be erased. All of my photo's, groups, posts and conversations gone. Why is facebook doing this? Please answer me Meta. I have been trying to contact them for a month. I was told I could appeal but no avenue of appeal is given and how do I appeal when I don't know what I'm supposed to have done. I have tried the help centre which is utterly useless, emailed staff and even applied for jobs just to get a message through. I am running out of time.
