hi ,
I just rendered a spherical 360° panorama from a 3d photogrammetry model.
(one camera, so it's a 2d image, not stereoscopic)
Worked fine and I got a crisp 8192x4096pix jpg-image.
I uploaded it to my Quest2 and viewed it with the "Meta Quest TV" App (setting "360° 2D") and I can view the environment as desired. But the resolution is not good at all. It seems the resolution is much lower than the 8192x4096pix from the original image.
I think I read somewhere, that the Quest can handle this resolution .... what did I miss?
It's definitely not a limitation of the displays. With other apps everything is sharper.
Is there a way (another app) to get a better resolution?
Thanks!

I found the "immerGallery" App.
Does the job much better 😉

You indeed found the root cause.
The Meta provided application to view content on the Quest is subpar. Unfortunately, this topic has been discussed often in forums and Meta does not seem interested in fixing this absurd issue.
We do have to revert to 3rd party software to get the most of their headset. Absurd.
