360 VR pictures are shown in very poor quality on Quest 3

Hi there ,

I've donne a bunch of 72mp 360 pictures on my own. When I see them on my computers / TV / laptop or phone , they are quite nice except of course if I zoom in .

I uploaded them on my brand new Quest 3 , and I watched them via the file browser in 2D 360 Vr mode .

It's quite impressive but I am a bit disappointed by the overall quality. The images ( and it's worse on those taken outside in open spaces and bright light) are very pixelated as if they were zoomed in .

I know there are some app like QGO or Sidequest that let you tweak your helmet for better results , but in apps and games .

I also know app like skybox VR.

So my question is : which solution , if any, may improve my experience with my pics ? Is Skybox VR the best way or should I undertake the long way of tweaking ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

The Field of View FOV may be too wide, can you rotate the image or adjust your pupillary distance not sure of the right term but in my headset it is a slider for better viewing, maybe exprtiment with that?  Seems cool though.

I tried different pupillary settings but it has no impact. All other applications and environment are ok , when the pupillary settings are not good it creates some kind of blurring effect . This is not what I experiment . I have a clear image but the pixellation is high , as if in lower resolution . As I wrote , it is as if it was zoomed ok lacking resolution . I know it has little chances to be related to the pics themselves has they are in the native 360 72mp resolution .

I don't understand what you mean by rotating the image , as they are 360 images , not flat ones .

maybe the photo was copyright protected or of a subject that meta maybe thought should be scanned like how that other OS does ton filter bad content for example.  No idea,  but try taking another photo of like an apple or fruit. I used a ricoh theta before but never got good images only in realtime that was achieved for me but not VR.  sorry I'm not much help just thinking of why it would be blurry.  How do you feel about Meta support?  I think they would best know the answer have you tried asking them in an email?

The pics are shot by me with an X3 , and they are only depicting landscapes and places , without anyone on them . I know the issue is not there.

I will indeed contact meta for advices , but I know they won't be of much help (from what I read on other threads ).

Thanks a lot anyway to have tried to help me .
