Hey there @Stormwire! We appreciate you reaching out to us to let us know of what you had experienced when trying to use the compatibility checker for your system to see if VR is good for your system. We understand how this can be concerning, especially when you have a modern and recent GPU that should be compatible for VR, and a processor. We have a list of the minimum and recommended specs to play VR games on the Rift headset here if you wanted to check it out manually. But to make sure we do the best we can for you, I did want to check a few things out:

  • Have you been able to try and play any of the games regardless of the checker saying it isn't compatible?(I.E. is there anything that prevents you from launching?)
  • Do you experience any issues in playing if you have been able to attempt any games?
  • Are the drivers for your GPU fully up to date?

We hope to hear back from you if there are still any issues. Please absolutely use us if you need any other assistance.

Hey again @Stormwire! We wanted to follow up with you to see if you were able to play on PCVR despite saying it doesn't meet the requirements when doing the compatibility checker. If you happen to need anything else or have any questions, please absolutely let us know!

VR experiance is nowhere near as smooth as it should be experiancing frame jitters etc. Drivers all up to date. PC runs everything else fine except anything in VR so not PC related. Any Suggestions would be helpful.

Hey @Stormwire! Thanks for reaching back out! I can understand how the jittering can ruin an experience for PCVR, especially when your specifications appear to be enough to use PCVR. To get a better idea of what is being used, we wanted to gather a bit more information to see if there may be any other factors to consider.

Is the System a Laptop or a Desktop?
Has anything notable happened to the headset recently? (I.E. Being bumped, dropped, ect.)

Are the cables attached to the headset damaged or otherwise showing any kind of bends, or irregularities in the cables?

Have you tried using different ports on your system?

We hope to hear back from you soon!

I don't think this detection software has been updated to fit in newer technologies and has been removed from Meta's site entirely, or stopped updating past GTX 1000 or RTX 3000. I can confirm running a system very similar that it's compatible.

Hey again @Stormwire! We wanted to reach back out and see how things were going with getting the stuttering looked in to. If you could provide us the information we requested in the previous post, we would be more than happy to help look into this further and work with you to attempt to improve your experience.
