+~7min EU preorder forgotten about

Hi guys

My preorder time for a UK order was in the 6-8 min range(somewhere about there) and on the 13th April I got a lovely email from Oculus saying "Your order is being processed!...Look for a tracking number shortly!".

£500 was deducted from my Paypal on that day. Then absolutely nothing happened so on the 24th April I sent a support ticket asking about what was going on, got a reply on the 27th saying this:

We
authorized the full amount on your payment method in preparation to
charging for your Rift. It was about to ship out, however, we ran into a
minor delay that we are working hard to get through.

"If
you were charged on your Paypal account, we can provide a refund for
now and recharge you when your Rift is ready to go. If you don’t want a
refund, we can hold on to the payment and prioritize your order once we
are able to ship to your region.

While
we don’t have an exact estimated timeframe for shipment, please know
that our team is working hard to get your Rift to you as quickly as
possible."
So I asked them to go with the prioritise option, yet here we are 11th May with zilch. I don't think anybody meant to mess up this order obviously but I do think it seems like the order is in a state of limbo and that contacting support isn't helping so I thought I'd post here to ask if anybody has any ideas.

I'm concerned the order isn't queued on their system or something like that.

I Should add that the order was a March estimate that got moved to 09/05/2016 - 19/05/2016 and they are now on course to not even meet that.

I would think that aswell if it wasn't for the fact that the order is supposed to be priority since the 27th April because it was going to be shipped on the 13th April but then it got messed up.

Yet many people are receiving rifts well into the 20s 30s minutes mark etc.

Hello Fez!

Basically at this point I would wait til the end of your estimate window and then really jump on support's back if it's not shipped by then. This is not just a normal situation since they charged you and it was "about to ship" and all that.

Seriously I would probably not have handled this well. It's like a bit of a tease, isn't it? "Oh hey your Rift is shipping! Psyche!" >_<

Anyways, yeah, I agree with Blyss(when don't I right? :tongue: )

Otherwise, get a Vive scrub

If we do go into June and nothing is happening then I am just going to have to take the hit and pay a bit more for a Vive. I mean yes I could cancel and reorder a rift but that would get shipped in October or something, whereas the Vive would arrive much sooner.

I don't think the order time matters that much at this point. It's mostly a batch thing. Once they get a batch ready for your region, it will ship. But then some other regions may take priority.

That would mean not a single Rift has been shipped to the EU since the 13th of April(a month), that sounds unlikely.
