ASW is completely broken and creates artefacts that prevents me from playing any PCVR game

Hello,

I've the weirdest issue and it suddenly (well, at least I don't know what's causing it) appeared: ASW is triggering horrible artifacts, mostly on plain background.

Video of the issue:

- It happens on every game I've tried. It also happens on the PCVR Oculus Dashboard.

- This is not a framerate issue.

- It happens mainly on plain backgrounds and a lot less when there is details.

- It happens only with my 4090. If I put my 3090 back, the issue is gone.

Quest 2 (Link or Airlink)

4090 RTX with 526.86 drivers

Oculus software 46.0.0.230.0 (46.0.0.229.0)

Could you guys tell me if this is an issue on my side or if ASW is actually broken? Could be an Nvidia driver issue, Oculus software issue, I really don't know so I'd like some support from Oculus Team.

@MetaQuestSupport Have you guys ever seen this or got reports about a similar issue?

Thanks!

@MetaQuestSupport Hello? Pretty please?

We don't have an ETA at this time, but keep an eye out on the update notes to see when we add support to the PC app. Thanks!

Well it turns out this is not an issue with not supporting the 40 series.

I met someone who owns a 4090 and he doesn't have this issue at all... So something else than just "we don't support the 40 series yet" is happening, so I'm reopening the issue with no solution selected.

Same issue with a 4090 here as well with a CV1 when ASW is kicking in.

I made an upgrade (without reinstalling) from a geforce 1080 where this issue did not appear.

Any update on this? Will meta quest link ever support the 4090?

I think they don't care anymore. Looks like Meta VR department is dead with all the layoffs. 😞

Yep. Still an issue here.

I've never had any problems with my i9 13900k/rtx4090 with either my Q2 or QPro.  I used to get a message that my gpu wasn't supported but I just ignored that and it worked fine with both Link and Air Link.  I use the Oculus Tray Tool (OTT) game profiles to make sure that ASW stays off because just setting it globally with ODT seems to revert back to auto.  Not a big deal most of the time with a 4090 gpu but it can kick in with flight sims like xp11/12 or msfs resulting in wavy artifacts.  Alternatively you can always disable ASW on the fly by pressing ctr+num1 (numeric keyboard 1, not top row 1).

Also make sure your nvidia drivers are up to date and use DDU in safe mode to properly uninstall previous drivers beforehand.  Google how to do this.

I've had a 4090 gpu for almost 6 months now and it has really improved the visuals and performance on all my PCVR games/sims.

i9 13900K water cooled, RTX4090, Z790 MB w/wifi6e, 32Gb 6400 ram, 2x2TB SSD, 1000W PSU, Win 11, QPro, Q3, w/Link and Air Link, Vive Pro1 with 2x2.0 base stations, Etsy lens mod and Index Controllers

Hello @MetaQuestSupport it's me again, almost a year later.
So the 40 series have -finally- been added to the compatible graphic cards list: https://www.meta.com/en-us/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/meta-quest-link-...

But the ASW issue remains, even with the Quest 3. I knew this compatibility list had nothing to do with the issue but oh well.

Can we expect a fix? Is it being worked on?

Thanks!

can confirm what @Flobud reported. ASW is still very much broken with a 4090. I have Public Test Channel enabled.
