Hello,
I've the weirdest issue and it suddenly (well, at least I don't know what's causing it) appeared: ASW is triggering horrible artifacts, mostly on plain background.
Video of the issue:
- It happens on every game I've tried. It also happens on the PCVR Oculus Dashboard.
- This is not a framerate issue.
- It happens mainly on plain backgrounds and a lot less when there is details.
- It happens only with my 4090. If I put my 3090 back, the issue is gone.
Quest 2 (Link or Airlink)
4090 RTX with 526.86 drivers
Oculus software 46.0.0.230.0 (46.0.0.229.0)
Could you guys tell me if this is an issue on my side or if ASW is actually broken? Could be an Nvidia driver issue, Oculus software issue, I really don't know so I'd like some support from Oculus Team.
@MetaQuestSupport Have you guys ever seen this or got reports about a similar issue?
Thanks!

Hello @MetaQuestSupport it's me again, almost a year later.
So the 40 series have -finally- been added to the compatible graphic cards list: https://www.meta.com/en-us/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/meta-quest-link-...
But the ASW issue remains, even with the Quest 3. I knew this compatibility list had nothing to do with the issue but oh well.
Can we expect a fix? Is it being worked on?
Thanks!
Sorry but I don't see this so-called common ASW issue with my Q2/QPro/Q3 headsets and my i913900k/rtx4090 PC with the latest non-PTC v57 update. I suggest you use DDU in safe mode to properly uninstall your nvidia driver and then try reinstalling the latest one. Google how to do this. I also avoid including geoforce experience bloatware. Also, disable win10/11 hardware acceleration graphics (HAGS) and turn Game Mode off. These things have fixed a lot of problems for me in the past.

Hey there @Flobud! We appreciate you reaching out regarding your issue with ASW creating artifacts on your device. This is definitely not the experience we want for our fellow users, as we want you to get the best experience possible when gaming with us. No worries, though, we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
Unfortunately at this time, we actually do not have an update regarding this issue. For this we strongly suggest submitting a bug report so that our specialized team can look into this and begin working towards a resolution as soon as possible. You can do so by using the steps provided here.
Let us know if you have any further questions. We are always happy to help!

I submitted a bug report for this and was informed that you intend to have a resolution for the problem. Do you actually intend to fix the problem or not? It's been around for a while and I wonder if Meta aren't particularly bothered about PCVR. I'm holding off buying a quest 3 until this problem is fixed

Well I formatted my hard drive, I even tried disabling what you suggested, still the same ASW issue.
At least I'm now sure the issue is on Meta side and is not related to anything I could have done.

Have you submitted a bug report? It might encourage meta to do something if enough of us submit bug reports

I did indeed. The process is like giving feedback though, so I'm not sure they will even care.
I need a famous Youtuber to talk about this 😂
Anyway, if this isn't fixed by the 9th of November, I'll return my Quest 3 and move on.
@MetaQuestSupport is the dev team at least aware of the issue? Because at this point, I have no idea.
Thanks!

@MetaQuestSupport , is there an update or at least some official acknowledgement from Meta?
I'll send my Quest 3 back in less than a week because of this and the broken WiFi so some news would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hey @Flobud! I hate to see that you're still experiencing ASW issues, so I'm gonna go ahead and get with our engineering team for them to dive a bit deeper into this.
In the meantime though, could you provide me with the following:
Thanks!

Thanks for the answer!
My Oculus Software is 57.0.0.254.153 (57.0.0.254.153). I also tried with the PTC enabled with 59.0.0.138.366 (59.0.0.138.366), but no changes.
My Quest 3 is on 57.0.0.295.669.526537896 (57.0.0.395.669.526236543).
My hardware is:
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
AMD 5800x3D
32GO DDR4
Gainward Phantom 4090 RTX with latest Nvidia Drivers.
2To SSD Nvme
In Airlink or Link, ASW still creates those artefacts that makes it unusable. They're still less or not visible when there's details. The first video posted still shows what's going on.

Hey @Flobud. The team has reached back with something to test out, and they wanted me to confirm if you were able to try out the official version of 59 for the pc app and/or your headset by any chance? This would be with PTC disabled.
If so, could you send over those live versions so I can pass them along?
