Hello,
I've the weirdest issue and it suddenly (well, at least I don't know what's causing it) appeared: ASW is triggering horrible artifacts, mostly on plain background.
Video of the issue:
- It happens on every game I've tried. It also happens on the PCVR Oculus Dashboard.
- This is not a framerate issue.
- It happens mainly on plain backgrounds and a lot less when there is details.
- It happens only with my 4090. If I put my 3090 back, the issue is gone.
Quest 2 (Link or Airlink)
4090 RTX with 526.86 drivers
Oculus software 46.0.0.230.0 (46.0.0.229.0)
Could you guys tell me if this is an issue on my side or if ASW is actually broken? Could be an Nvidia driver issue, Oculus software issue, I really don't know so I'd like some support from Oculus Team.
@MetaQuestSupport Have you guys ever seen this or got reports about a similar issue?
Thanks!

Hey @Flobud. I went ahead and reached out to some people who found and looked over the interaction and will make sure they can get the right information for you.
From here, I'm not exactly sure on what the process will be as it'll be handled outside the scope of things I can help with. If anything comes up let me know and I'll be more than happy to try and get it checked out!

Hello @TheAntiSocializer ,
So i went back and forth with the support for no real concrete actions on their side. In the end I had to re-explain everything and I provided them again with logs and they decided that since they had no idea when or if a fix would be released someday, as they told me that the dev team was not communicating with them anyway, to close the ticket.
I'm back to square one where I don't even know if they reproduced the issue on their end with a 40x series graphic card and most importantly, if they're working on it.
Maybe it is even on Nvidia side, I've no idea but I'm not the one who can pass them the information and make Meta and Nvidia work together on this issue (unfortunately).

IMO meta has all but abandoned their PCVR app so I am not surprised. They havent even bothered to rebrand it as meta.

This is really disappointing. It's misleading that meta say the rtx 4*** series is supported

Can corroborate this. Have the EXACT same artifacting in DCS and MSFS with asw enabled. Also using 4090. No issue when over land but at altitude or over water when it’s similar color spectrum, I get this same effect.

Huh? How is it misleading? my 4080 works fine with it,

Are you 100% positive that with ASW forced ON in the Oculus Debug tool and then looking at a plain background in game, you don't see those artefacts? Could you please double check and give us your exact graphic card model?
I'm asking because so far it only affects the 40x series so this could be some important piece of information if you don't see it.
Thanks!

This is an issue that continues to plague the Quest 2 as well, since the advent of this thread: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/PTC-v56-57-Flashing-white-colored-pixel-artifact-prob...
Meta, please look into this! I don't understand how there is such a big thread on this issue that people report is ongoing on the Quest 2, and yet somehow the same problem was introduced into the Quest 3 after launch!?

I also have this issue with my quest 3, and I've posted it here yesterday with a video I recorded. (https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Quest-3-Random-white-pixels-flashing-on-screen/td-p/1...)
This is very annoying, always happens when I'm watching movie in Skybox. But when I'm using the older version of Skybox (1.1.0), the artifacts don't show up. I don't even know if it's a software bug or a hardware related issue.
This happened to so many people since months ago. I think Meta should take it seriously, at least let us know they are trying to fix this issue!!!
