Accessing downloads from Oculus Quest 2

Hi everyone,

I’m very new to the oculus quest (I’m actually using it as a part of a study). I’m having issues accessing downloads I got from the browser on oculus quest. They won’t open up and I need that information. I was hoping I could access it from my phone or computer through syncing. Is this possible?

Thank you,

Nadia Jurkovic

Hey there brain_cain3! You should be able to access your downloads directly from your Oculus Browser, so we understand how this could be concerning. It's always a good idea to make sure that your permission settings are configured to your preferences. After you've checked your settings, you can access your Oculus Browser downloads from the Oculus Browser menu, and also from the Files app! The Files app will also allow you to sync data from your Quest 2 to your companion app. Any synced data can be accessed on your companion app!

I tried to follow this but it's still seeming not to work, perhaps the .zip file is what is my issue here, could you add to this?

Hey @Kyara_Ruri_TF2! Not being able to view the files you want can certainly be disheartening. We don't want that for you, so let's see what we can do to get you viewing the content you downloaded. We agree that the file type likely won't save properly. If you're able to get a uncompressed version of the file downloaded onto the headset, it should then show up in the Files app. Some accepted file types are MP4, MOV, M4V, etc.

Hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns please let us know, we'll be happy to help out!

Im having this exact same issue. I download sidequest app and I cant open it up inside the metaquest browser or the files app in the headset. It doesnt show up as an application. The icon for the download shows up as a piece of paper not the sidequest.exe icon. Not sure what to do here?

Hey guys! This is not what we like to hear. We know how important it is to be able to access those important files. You should be able to access your downloads directly from your Oculus Browser, We would suggest making sure that your permission settings are configured to your preferences. After you've checked your settings, you can access your Oculus Browser downloads from the Oculus Browser menu and also from the Files app! The Files app will also allow you to sync data from your Quest 2 to your companion app. Any synced data can be accessed on your companion app! @Mr_Monko The file type likely won't save properly. I hope this information helped, and please feel free to reach out to us any time. We are always here to help.

You just keep saying the same thing over and over, when we're telling you it's not working. Don't bother saying for a fourth or fifth time to check your preferences, there isn't even anything in preferences that relates to this. So instead of just writing some generic thing off the top your head that doesn't even apply, could you maybe actually look into it and give some customer service?
