We recently purchased a Meta Quest 2 for our son and we are having much difficulty with getting it to work with the parental controls. At first none of the approvals appeared to be working, so, in an effort to allow my son to play, I added myself to the Quest. This is not ideal since we wanted to be able to monitor his use. Anyway, just today I tried to do the approvals on the meta website and they appeared to work, so I prematurely removed my account from the quest and downloaded the apps on his account. But they don't all work as one of them (Rec Room) relies on developer mode even though the app is 10+ and I cannot enable that option because he is only 12.
My first thought was to give up and push his age up to 13. The website appeared to have that option, but when I tried to update the birthdate it didn't do anything and the website said to contact customer support.
My second thought was to re-add myself to the Quest, that ALSO didn't work as the website simply says I'm already on the device, which I am NOT.
Third, I reset the device, readded my son then added myself. The website DID say it added me this time, but I am still not on the Quest. Now my son is stuck unable to play anything. This is probably going back to CostCo if we can't figure this out.
I'm looking for help with either modifying my son's age to 13 to allow for developer mode to be set, or a way to add myself back onto the Quest so that my son can continue to play as me.
Thanks for any help!
