We've had 3 meta quest 2 headsets in the house for a few years, and I'm looking at replacing them with meta quest 3 headsets.
My kids are 12 and 13, I want to be able to manage their available content from a central family library and allow them to play on their own headsets so they don't have to share one, this is so that they can play at the same time, play together (yeah right) and because I don't think sharing headsets is particularly hygienic, particularly if they've been active and sweaty!
When my kids were younger I just signed into all three devices with my own account, and that worked. But it seems like the Meta system has been changed to maximise profit by making content sharing only available on a single device.
The current setup prevents me from managing their content and is not family friendly. There are far better examples of family sharing systems out there, these are mentioned several times on these forums, Apple and Xbox are good examples, but the Meta system seems to be greedy and that's putting me off.
So here's my use case:
As a parent, I want to have a single parental account with content in it that I control which can then be shared with family accounts on multiple headsets. I don't mind paying extra for a 'family' version of an application, but I don't want to manage multiple content libraries, and I don't want the kids to be logged in using my or their mother's Facebook/Meta accounts. I don't want the kids accounts to be able to purchase games outside the family library, I don't want to add card details to these accounts.
This isn't hard, I should be able to set up a 'family' and then anyone within that family should be able to share content from a shared family library no matter which headset they're using. I don't want to have to log in a parent account to every device.
Not having this feature is a big negative for Meta, and that's shame as the Quest 3 really is a remarkable piece of kit.

Hey there,
Welcome to the community forums and thank you very much for posting about your situation.
It is true that app sharing is intended for a single device however for a potential workaround there is an option to swap the device you are currently sharing to. The link below goes into more detail I hope to proves to be helpful for you.
Share apps on a different Meta Quest.
I understand that this is not an ideal fix due to the hassle of constantly switching which device has the app sharing however this is the only workaround I am aware of.
Please feel free to make a post in the ideas forum to drum up attention for more app sharing options to hopefully be implemented in the future.

That is neither a fix or a workaround.
I am still required to be logged in to each device.
It does not allow the kids to play on their headsets at the same time from a family library.
It does not allow them to play the same game at the same time.
This shouldn't be a 'new idea' it should be how family sharing works. Right now the only actual workaround is to be logged in with my account on multiple headsets at the same time with one headset set up with one child account with family sharing enabled to stop Meta bleating about me "not using the right account for my age".

As there has been no reply at all, I actually clicked your link to the 'Ideas Forum' and this is what I got.
