It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the Air Link feature on your PC, resulting in poor performance and lag when trying to use it with your Oculus Quest. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check System Requirements: Ensure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Air Link. This includes having a compatible graphics card, sufficient RAM, and a stable Wi-Fi connection.

  2. Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause performance issues with VR streaming.

  3. Optimize Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is properly configured and that you have a strong and stable connection to your PC. Consider using a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network for better performance.

  4. Adjust Oculus Settings: In the Oculus PC app, go to Settings > Beta and enable the "Use Air Link" option if it's available. You can also try adjusting the streaming quality settings to see if it improves performance.

  5. Restart Oculus Software: Sometimes, simply restarting the Oculus software on both your PC and Oculus Quest can resolve connectivity and performance issues.

  6. Check PC Performance: Monitor your PC's performance while using Air Link to identify any bottlenecks or issues. Close any unnecessary background processes or applications that may be consuming system resources.

  7. Test with Different Games/Apps: Try using Air Link with different VR games or applications to see if the issue persists across all of them. This can help determine if the problem is specific to certain software or more general.

  8. Reset Oculus Quest: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on your Oculus Quest to see if it resolves the issue. Be sure to back up any important data before doing so.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, you may need to reach out to Oculus Support for further assistance. They can provide additional troubleshooting steps or guidance based on your specific situation.

We are also going to give you some more troubleshooting questions so if you don't mind just answer these below.

  • When did this issue start? Has it worked fine before this started happening?
  • Have the PC connected to Router/Access Point via Ethernet cable and not Wi-Fi
  • Headset should be connected to Wi-Fi via 5GHz band (AC or AX)
  • Have you tried to Re-Pair Air Link
  1. In Quest headset:
    1. Navigate to the Settings menu
    2. Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off
    3. Restart both the Quest and the PC, and re-pair the Quest to the PC. ( you can follow the steps how to do this here )
