Hi, when I try to connect to my PC with air link, it reports a problem with wifi signal strength and won't connect. This happens even if I place the headset right next to the router.
I don't believe there is a problem with the router as Steam Link works flawlessly even at the opposite corner of the house from the router.
Using Quest 3 with AX3000 Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router on 5GH band with nothing else connected to wifi.
Any suggestions?

For anyone else having a similar problem I eventually found this - https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Black-Screen-when-using-Virtual-Desktop-in-Oculus-PC-...
That solved the problem for me (yes, I did search the forums before posting this topic, but I didn't find the solution. I came upon it by a circuitous route via Reddit).

My Q3 works great with Air Link so I'm not sure why you are having problems. Do you have your router connected to your router with an Ethernet cable? If so, you should get good results. Albeit your performance will depend a lot on your pc specs (esp. your gpu). If you don't have any other wifi 5Ghz devices and are using a dedicated 5Ghz chanel this should work even better. Maybe try selecting a specific wifi channel (I use ch36/80mhz) and disable 2.4/5 band steering.
Your ODT and meta link pc app settings can have have a big impact as well. If you list out your PC specs (cpu/gpu/ram) I can try to suggest which settings you may want to try. Using defaults is usually a good place to start off with.
If you can't be bothered to learn how to use a lot of these settings, you may want to try using Virtual Desktop (Quest store version). Like Steam Link, it is a bit easier to setup and get good results imho.
Anyway, good luck mate and cheers.

Thanks for replying Tom. Yes, I have ethernet from the pc to my router, and in fact when I switched my router to channel 36 I got a strong signal near the router. However, that led me to the next problem lol.
Now when I start the link up my boundary shows up in the headset and 3 white, pulsating dots appear - and that's all - even if I leave it for an extended period of time on my head (10 minutes). If I take the headset off (with air link still running) and come back later I just get a message saying 'connection lost'.

@JD_Junior Whenever Air Link gets a little cranky to startup I go to quick settings/settings/ link and disable link, then enable it again, launch air link and pair it again, confirm pairing code on your pc. Then launch again.

Well, I've tried all that and no joy. Looks like I won't be able to play my Oculus games on the Quest after all (I can't go back to using a cable I'm afraid).
It's a very poor show from Meta imo. I've seen similar problems reported over several years and they don't seem to give a toss.
My PC specs are:

Sorry mate, not a poor show from Meta, just a poor show with your specs and settings imho. All this works fine with Link and Air Linf for me. Maybe contact meta support with your log file and see if they can help.

Tom. I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with my PC specs. I can't access any settings in the Oculus dash to do with air link other than the frame rate and resolution, which are set to the recommended values.
However, while playing around today I started an app up from the dash on the PC (while the Quest 3 was linked up) and the PC game window shows that the view is tracking the headset. Quest 3 display still black though. Something odd going on, but hard to say what exactly.

Sorry but I don't know why you are having this problem and I'm not. Probably best to contact meta support and include you log file to se if they can identify the cause of you problem. Good luck mate and cheers.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your input. As you can see from my last post I solved it by changing the Windows display settings, as recommended on the topic I linked to.
