Airlink Laggy.

BaronStupid
Honored Guest

Brief Intro to my Problem:

My Airlink seems to get a huge freeze every 1-2 minutes in-game, After it's done freezing It tries catching up to the actual Game and after it does it lags for 10 seconds, and then it all goes back to normal for the next minute. I know it's not my PC Since I took my Q2 off as it started lagging to look at the task manager and my Game was running Smoothly, I also noticed the CPU and GPU usage values are both still at 60% when it's lagging.

Notes:

  • The issue occurred on Pavlov Via Oculus Mode.
  • I recently (Literally Yesterday 26.06) Factory Reset my Q2 and also ran the Oculus-driver.exe File as I had a problem with Airlink crashing.
  • I Also Ran the Debug Tool Performance Profiler and it seems like every time it freezes the App Motion to Photon Latency skyrockets and remains constant throughout the freeze.

(can't upload the file but if someone wants it I can google drive it, photo of the AMTP Latency below)Performance ProfilerPerformance Profiler

Specs:

I5-7400 3ghz

1060 6GB

16gigs of Ram

5G Wifi on a separate band. only Q2 connected to it.

I Tried Restarting my Q2 and Restarting Airlink, Since I know it's not my PC I didn't bother tweaking anything on it.

What is precise time of freeze? Is it the same? (say it "xx hours yy minutes 15 seconds" every time or differ each time?)

Will it change after reboot?

I could be some other wireless device interfering (even if it is not wifi or even outside one).

You could try to change router frequency.

ps. Wifi is not good at recovering after signal loss.

pps. are there any airport or radar near you?

Sorry for the Late Replay, I've had it Fixed by Factory-Resetting and running the Oculus-Driver.exe, But alas it broke again, There is no Precise Time for the Freeze, Ranges between 5-20 seconds of Freeze, 20 seconds of the Quest Trying to Sync back up to My PC and 10 seconds of lag, then it goes back to normal.

  • Doesn't Change After Reboot
  • Could Be but I doubt it, I don't really have any tech-savvy people living around me.
  • Its on 5G. should I switch it to 2.4?
  • No Radars near me. Nearest Airport is 6 Cities Away.

Notes:

  • I am running Ethernet Through the PC and the Router.
  • This Didn't Start Happening until I had a power outage a few days ago, Even though the Quest 2 Wasn't Connected to the PC or the Charger.
  • I also didn't find any fixes for the 2nd time, I factory resetted it 3 times, Reinstalled the Oculus PC app and also Ran the Oculus-Driver.exe file too many Times to Count
  • I Might Reach out to Oculus support again.. Im getting really pissy Right now..
